Growing Cubes and oysters same FC?

I searched around, maybe I'm not searching for the right thing... Couldn't find the info.
I'm curious if you can grow oysters and cube cakes in the same FC(pmp)?
I read somewhere that oyster spores are bad to breathe in and can spread around your house very quickly and fill your lungs up. That bugs me a bit... Probably need a hepa filter in that room.
Thanks for the info!

I'd keep em seperate personally.
Also just an FYI oysters prefer much higher amounts of fresh air and seem to like a bit more light

I heard oysters properly pin at temps around high 50's to low 60's... Can anyone confirm this? I am looking to grow an edible strain along with cubes in my next green house grow.
thanks!

Oysters will not do well in a PMP. In fact the levels of FAE that they need to thrive will drop RH too much and abort your cubes. Fruit them seperate.

If anyone wants to grow an edible with their cubes I suggest enoki. They will do fine with high CO2 levels and in fact that is the preferred way to grow them. They are also a nice tasty mushroom.

So what? You can't grow them both in a SHFC? I think they both can do well together in a SHFC. SHFC= lots of FAE and high RH. Or are we talking about greenhouses? IF i were the OP i would just put them both in a SHFC.

To grow oysters in a SGFC you would want to crack the lid on an angle. But the OP isn't using a SGFC, he is using a PMP which would be atrocious for oysters.

The op should give it a shot. Yes you can grow oysters next to cubes. Nothing (bad) will happen. There will be a problem with fresh air. You will be amazed with how little fresh air cubes need to be happy once you compare them to oysters. Spores will not be a problem until they over mature. You are not going to inhale enough to cause a lung problem. Pick the oysters before they start dropping too many spores. Oysters are easier to grow than cubes in a sense. They do everything faster. But the fae is the issue. You will see. Save your spawn, cake, or whatever you use and plug a tree when finished. I take all my old oyster bricks down to the river and stick them in cracks of oak trees. I have access to blue oyster mushrooms during fall and winter. Good luck

I grew my golden oysters in the same greenhouse as my cubes, flushes were puny and sad. after a while i just threw some shelves up in front of a window and put my oysters there. Sprayed them 2-3 times a day
They loved getting out of that GH.

Cronicr. What are we looking at there? Is that a cube substrate that popped out oysters? If yes, what happened? Did spores drop on some cube stuff and germinate and take over

it was after three flushes of cubes i was getting ready to toss it outside and i noticed a bunch more pins coming in and though well one more flush won't hurt....till those popped up i had some oysters fruiting in the room before that(not even at the same time)

So spores floating around the room had germinated on the casing. That is awesome.

Thanks all for the info!!! Separate FC's sounds like the common answer due to different growing requirements (FAE).

"Poor mans pod" easy setup. Hydroton is reusable and cleaned easily. Humidity is great, no holes needed if the tub isn't airtight. Also if you add a filter to the air pump you can filter all air going into the FC and since there is constant air flowing out, no unfiltered external air can really enter. Pmp just works for me, but maybe not everyone. Less mess makes me happy.
