Hey friends, so I had a mentor, but he has sense vanished. I have an LC of PE and I'm ready to take the next step, I have the bird seed without sunflowers, and I'm looking for a step by step on how to go with it next, got my chambers for 76 and 86, needles, door and seed. Sterilization he's for the substrate and inoculation is where I'm needing guidance.

I'm a wbs whore and I never remove the floaters, sunflowers, etc. Too much time when you're prepping a lot of grain.
The only halfway decent argument I could see for removing sunflowers is because its possible for someone to confuse them for a contam in the spawn.

Great first post.

even the floaters have nutrition in them, I used to dispose of floaters as well till one day I noticed almost all the floaters don't float anymore after a few minutes in the soak water IMO we pay for the floaters why not use them? I haven't noticed any ill side effects since I started using them

Floaters, like sunflower seeds, are removed because they don't hold much water. No need packing in a bunch of big kernels that don't hold enough water to do what you want it to do.

Here's a couple more:

Agar (inoculation) http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18430998#18430998

The link to mushroom videos is worth downloading the full series -- it will cover almost all of the other topics you will need to grow mushrooms.
