Bluefoot mushroom?
    #22097140 - 08/16/15 12:40 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Habitat:
Supermarket, says they are from France

Gills:
Pale brown/ off-white

Stem:
5-6 cm long, 1/2 cm wide (avg).  A blend of bluish-purple and whitish-blue.  Solid.

Cap:
2-3 cm across, pale brown to medium brown. Rolls inwards to gills.

Spore print color:
Could not obtain a spore print (supermarket)

Bruising:
None seen

Other information:
Found in a bin in the supermarket labeled "bluefoot mushroom".  I have looked up bluefoot mushrooms and found 2 species described: Psilocybe caerulipes and Clitocybe nuda.  It doesn't really look too much like Google image search for either of these, although I would definitely think it's not a Psilocybe since it's being sold in a supermarket!  I just don't want to eat something poisonous by accident.  How can I cook this, or can I eat it raw?  Any help is appreciated!

If you found them in a supermarket I can almost guarantee it isn't an active mushroom. How much did you pay for them?

Oh I don't expect they're active, I just want to know what species they are so that I can figure out what to do with them.  Kind of a strange impulse buy I guess.

a bluefoot mushroom is Lepista saeva / Lepista personata, also known as a feild blewit which appears to be the correct ID on these
