Wild mushroom trip gone bad

Hello All,
I used mushroom a few times with various results but this is the first time being very sick.
Yesterday, I had a terrible experience with my first harvest of wild mushrooms. From what I've read, I was pretty sure I had collected Cubes but now, I have serious doubts.
After the harvest, I made some prints and dried them with a high speed fan for 48 hours. To completely dry them, I stored the dry mushrooms in a ziplock bag together with a pouch of desiccant.
Trip report: I had my last meal around noon. At 5:00pm, I made myself a big glass of fresh berry smoothie since I started to be hungry and hoped that it would keep me going during the trip.
At 6:25pm, I ate 3g of cracker dry mushroom strait.
At 7:50pm, no effect. So I ate 3g more.
9:30pm, still no effect other then an uncomfortable stomach. I felt hungry so I made myself a small plate of pasta but ate only 4-5 bites. I felt more like eating a pear.
After the pear, I started to feel very sick - nauseous and intense stomach pain. I started thinking that I might have eaten some poisonous mushrooms. I could not lay down in bed still. I felt like vomiting but nothing came up so I tried to trigger it. Drank a lot of water to help. Finally managed to vomit a little but I soon realized that the mushrooms I had ingested were very far down my stomach or even in my bloodstream already. It was probably too late.
At 10:30pm, still no visuals nor any other perceivable effect other than the extreme nausea - it was the same feeling as food poisoning. At this point, I was so worried that I might have eaten poisonous mushrooms than I drove myself to the emergency. The pain was very intense. The 15 minutes drive felt much longer. I was extremely hesitant to walk in the ER to reveal how stupid I had been. I decided to walk around the ER to assess if the sick feeling would diminish. After 30-45 minutes of walking, I started feeling slightly better. I went back to my car, pull the seat back and closed my eyes. A couple minutes later, I could feel some of the effects. The effects were not perceivable with open eyes but with closed eyes, I could hear strobing noise and very light fractals. The pain was gone. I could not feel my body anymore.
After over an hour resting in my car, I felt much better and decided to drive back home.
I was in bed around 1:00 and slept well.
The next morning, back to normal - no upset stomach. I'm so glad!
Could any one tell me what happened? Did I misidentified the mushrooms? Please read description and see pictures below. Did I make a mistake by eating some food? What should I do next time. I'm scared to eat those mushrooms again... please help!
Many thanks in advance!
Habitat: Central Florida. Grows on dung under the tree canopy and by the tree line in pastures.
Gills/Stem/Cap: See pictures below
Spore print color: Black
Bruising: Purple

they look like cubes to me. wait for a TI for sure. 6g should have worked better than that, but they may be super weak? I don't have any experience with wild cubes, only cultivated, so I can't help too much, but I have read that wild cubes can be very weak some times...

The only thing I can think is that the field may have been sprayed with fungicides or pesticides (highly doubt).
Could have possibly been from something you ate prior.
I have had pretty intense abdominal pain before from dry and old mushrooms. Also they can get moldy in the drying process.

I see one in the pic that looks like a panaeolous sp. Would like to see it better. Its the really skinny long stalked mushroom on the top side of the pic. Last pic.
You got some mixed fungi in there. The majority being Cubensis. The others probably some inactive/active pans.

Yes! Well spotted BoomBoom! I found 2 of those. They are different and couldn't identified them as Cubes. I didn't take chances and put them in the trash.
Did you spot any other non-Cubes other than those 2?
Also good guess BoomBoom. I also doubt the field was sprayed since it looked quite wild with only cows grazing around.
You guys are awesome. Thanks a lot for your quick replies and support.

Glad you're feeling better! Maybe next time take a small amount of ginger with your mushrooms it can help alleviate any digestive issues. Also you can try boiling a tea so your stomach doesn't have to worry with the matter. Don't eat any rotting mushrooms or ones that are falling apart have turned completely hideous from too frequent rains and what not.
The red circled one's are panaeolous cyanescens and are active. But good idea in throwing away anything you aren't certain of.
Those first few pics hold some pretty cubes! Nice haul!

Thank you BoomBoom. It was a very scary experience. I hope it will not repeat.
I'll try tea and ginger next time. Thanks for your advice.
Perhaps I should get rid of all the small ones that were harder to identify. I don't want to fell like this again... That wasn't the trip I was looking for...

Heavy rains in my experience can ruin the psilocybin content or actually water it down causing a general shitty feeling when it comes to fields. I like to get mine after the sun has dried them and they are mostly just a shell of a mushroom if that makes any sense.
Indoor are a safer bet and usually a better experience. Feild can have a HEAVY body high which can bring on some unpleasant feelings in different parts of the body. Hope this helps.

I find it odd that someone with 900+ posts at the shroomery can't identify a cube, especially when the photos show near perfect specimens.

Cubes for sure. There are a couple that look like they could be a little old and maybe rotten (the 2 at the bottom in the 5th and 6th pic to the left a bit). Maybe the berries were bad? Glad you kept your wits and didn't go into the ER, though given the circumstances it could have been a good idea.

One or 2 of the mushrooms look past it so that could account for it.

Without a doubt Psilocybe cubensis, and beautiful specimens you found.
I hope you find the trip you're wanting from these beauties.
