BRF Cakes never fruited, how to move forward?

Hello all, I began my first grow, inoculated about 8 jars (middle of June) with A+ albino and 6 showed growth. But it was really really slow and eventually stalled. But I birthed (July 27) the 5 best ones which looked to be almost 100% done. That was probably my first mistake. Then I left the cakes out for about 45 minutes after the dunk while I soaked my perlite and filled the SGFC. This was probably my second mistake. Then I commenced with fanning and misting. First I got white fuzzy growth which I thought meant my FAE was insufficient, so I fanned more. The cakes started to turn blue. So, I upped the misting. Then nothing happened for a very long time except it seemed they were turning a bit more blue. I picked them up and they felt super light so I reduced and rolled. That was a week ago and they never showed anything more than a slight white fuzzy growth and they still have a fresh mushroom smell.
So, I have 6 more jars consolidating right now and I can tell already they have much more promise. They colonized super fast :-) As I get ready for the next step, what should I do (other than follow the pf tek to the T). Were the mistakes that I think I made really that big of a deal?
my SGFC and 6500k light setup.

bought a shitty thermometer/hygrometer because I was worried that it was too hot and dry in the chamber. I know the hygrometer isn't accurate but it tells me if humidity goes up or down. I was frustrated after going from fuzzy cakes to blue cakes.

this is the last jar left from my first inoculation, it still hasn't fully colonized, why?

The best time to birth is when you start to see pinning (may be a week or more after full colony). If you birth before that you are too impatient for cult/pf cakes. Birthing before full colonization is a contamination risk. If you don't see pinning after a week, birth it and maybe FAE and evaporation from misting will trigger pinning. Be patient man.
You can leave cakes out of the FC for a while. 45 min is no prob.
Your cakes are dehydrated bc they are light and bruising. Dunk them again for about 24h in the fridge but don't roll again. After that, mist the cakes directly 3-4 times daily until they are glistening wet without pools of water forming. You're going to take longer to fruit because you birthed prematurely. Hope that clears it up for ya! Good luck.

well, thanks! I thought that I was supposed to birth after the cakes appeared to have colonized 100% the substrate + one week. I only gave up waiting till 100% on those jars because they just stalled out.
well, back to the waiting game. Just checked on the jars that are 100%, no pinning yet. Hopefully soon though...

Your cakes are blue from OVER misting. Its important to use a fine mist spray and spray from a foot away. Only mist your cakes when the vermiculite looks and or feels Dry. Your should be fanning more than misting IME.
More fanning and less misting will increase evaporation of the cakes hence signaling the mycelium to push out pins. Also letting your SGFC sit In Direct sun light for an hour a day will usually help jump start stubborn cakes.
Birthing your cakes before 100 percent colonization is most likely what stalled your pinning process the over misting didn't help either. They most likely Tokyo too long to colonize because your substrate was packed too tight in the jar. Click the link in my signature it'll really help.keep this thread updated.

I did follow the mushroom videos. I suspect that I did overpack the jars because in the video it shows that he has no substrate mix leftover but when I did it I had a ton leftover. So, I packed more in. I have since changed measuring cups and I barely had any substrate mix leftover my second time around. I've also realized now that having leftover verm mix is no big deal.
The only reason I upped the misting in the first place was because they were turning blue. I had no idea overmisting could also do that. Is direct sunlight more effective for the cakes then the 6500k light?
I'm no optimistic that my cakes will give me much at all but I do appreciate learning from all the mistakes.

Honestly my cakes are turning blue. Its my first grow too. So after about 2 hours of reading old posts on the shroomery did I come to the answers I just gave you. RR said that about the sunlight. He didn't say it was better just that it usually kicked pinning into gear. Congrats on that pin.

well, props to you for reading up. I've done my fair share of reading but after a while it gets a bit overwhelming because there's just SO much information and everyone tweaks the pf tek just a tad. Which is why I ended up adding yet another "please help" post. It felt like about two months straight of waiting and just about nothing happening. Glad I kept myself busy with new grows.

Yeah I'm doing the same. It's important to stay busy in this area.
I hope it works out for you through up a picture of your new pin!

well, I can't help but worry a little bit now! There wasn't any off smell at least when I birthed 'em.
