Best Light Source for Cultivation?

So I'm looking to invest in a light that's going to be good for a clear fruiting chamber. Preferably if it was cheaper/ saved energy that would be nice! However I've learned you can't also be cheap when it comes to growing. What watts, what kind of light, where can I get it? Can I just use a lamp and replace the light? Maybe it would be better to keep them somewhere that would be pitch black except the light source? Thanks.

Indirect sunlight is enough light usually. But if you really want one a cheap 13 watt cfl bulb will do good. Your looking for soft white I think. Somewhere on the package there will be your k number. Your looking for 6500k.

Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thing with just a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this. Cutting right angle donuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks, and me yelping... Holy fucking shit!

Get a "Daylight" cfl. The preferred spectrum Can be tricky to findsometimes, but just look on the back of the box. There will be a diagram similar to this:

6500K works well. I just screwed mine into a clip on lamp with the metal dome, but you can use any fixture that's close enough.

6500K (daylight) Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFL), screwed into one of those $5-$7, round reflector clip-on work-lights...

The 6500k (Kelvin) on the left side of the image is what you want.....
You can get them at most any big box store.
I keep mine about 6-12 inches from my tubs or sgfc...... hope this helps.
