Thinking about meditation as an exercise

Hi!
Does anyone here think of their daily meditation or meditation in general as a sort of exercise? like Running, or going to the gym? Do you enjoy it or is it something you know is beneficial in the long run and through your whole life?
For me its like I know I should do it and have been constantly, and at times it can be enjoyable, but sometimes a struggle to pay attention!
I was just curious what people see it has/how they relate to their practice.

Yoga or prayer goes well with it.

I'm pretty sure sitting in place for extended periods of time doesn't count as exercising, physically of course.

To be fair meditation (applied concentration) is 'like exercising your brain', for example your brain will remodel with repeated and consistent practice (a bit like muscles undergoing hypertrophy after resistance exercise).
The challenge is ensuring you regularly meditate!

It can be, I have noticed that regular meditation improved my posture. It doesn't have to be structured as in sitting, you can slowly do basic tasks while keeping the meditative mind as you progress to more complex things. You don't have to actively think while doing things, just be aware and centered in the moment... Yoga is great example of that union.

Fuck yeah I see it as mental exercise! I'm also someone who does a lot of physical exercise (1-1.5 hours lifting weights & 1 hour of cardio 5 days a week). Meditation however is 7 days a week, 1-2 times per day, 12 minutes at a time.
Meditation is definitely cumulative IMO - a day missed sets me back significantly.
As for how beneficial it's been; there's never been such a beneficial practice I've found in my 31+ years on this planet. I've been heavily into it for about 2.5 years, and tried and failed for about 4 years prior to that. I've now found I can carry it outside of my sitting in a darkened room into the whole of my life, and it's effected it profoundly. I could not recommend it more.
If I can keep my concentration on point, my 12 minutes in meditation is 12 minutes of near orgasmic bliss. I now also have 'spontaneous' moments of meditation throughout my day; also moments of absolute bliss - like a connection with the divine.
Need I say more?

It will only destroy what you are not. --Jac O'keeffe

Its all about perspective bro, I am exercising multiple reps now with this spoon and half gallon ice cream, yes I upped the weight from a pint, you can too with the right mindset.

I just was going about my day thinking about this
meditation is the one thing that changed my life more than anything. Right behind that would be the importance of sleeping and eating properly
But meditation has stopped me from committing suicide at least 5-10 times. I would be dead and diseased if it werent for meditation
