Dub Tub pinning on sides

Hello, This is my first grow so don't be too harsh. :p Anyway I put some tubs in to fruiting conditions about a week ago and I have only gotten one pin which is developing pretty well. A few more are coming out the sides today. I pulled out on the plastic side to see if there where any more pins and there was quite a few. Should I turn the the tub upside-down, remove the box, and place it in a fruiting chamber? Is this pretty normal? What may have caused this. Its kinda hard to see in the photo because I didn't want to bend the box too much. Appreciate the help -DN
EDIT: This is the only tub I didn't use plastic bags to line the tub with, so I assume that is what caused it. Lesson learned.

Im a newb myself, so there is a huge chance i am wrong. So please do correct me.
After what i read the mycelium needs to colonize the "valleys" of the casing layer before you initiate pinning. Since i can't see any mycelium, i guess you put it in fruiting conditions to early...? As i said, im a newb and if i stand corrected i can remove the post.
At least you got a bump☺
Hope you get more help! Good luck!

That is called a casing layer. It is something you apply over the mycelium after it has fully colonized.
EDIT: Wait... I read that wrong. Casing is a non-nutritive substance used to hold in moisture and protect mycelium. Mycelium doesn't grow too well without nutrients.

it can colonize a casing layer weather it has them or not, your problem is simple...fruiting conditions are better on the edges, try use a liner next time

It doesn't matter what i think of you...all that matters is clean spawn I'm tired do me a favor

it looks like you didn't give the spawn enough time to introduce into the substrate, then you cased it.... and the middle was the best, so you got fruit.
So... keep good humidity, spray a liberal amount 2 times a day, and it will fill out in 2-3 weeks.
*edit create spawning conditionas for a week, then keep heavy humidity and a decent airflow until it starts taking off, then introduce normal airflow.

Can you define "decent" and "normal"?
You want tons of FAE with tons of evaporation happening, that is all.
With that you will have tons of humidity.
Tons, tons, tons.

Yeah, Im starting to get more pins coming through but I still have a bunch of pins on the side. It seems like that would be a good plan for a monotub but this is a double tub. Wouldn't it be more effective to just mist and fan periodically? Or does constant airflow produce better fruiting conditions. I guess it would depend upon the volume of air being pushed through. My understanding is that dub tubs require occasional manual fanning or brief exposure to an electric fan thoughout the day, as there is no polyfil to help prevent contams. Obviously if you increase the volume of air so that it is constant you would be exposing your cakes to more bacteria. It seems like it also wouldn't be as effective at evaporating as periodic strong fanning which would penetrate the casing better. cronicrM it seems like that is my issue. As I said I am not having this problem in my tubs with a liner for obvious reasons. Anyway my original question of whether it would be productive to dump the contents into a fc still stand, though perhaps for future projects as this one is starting to fruit through the top. Wouldn't it be more effective to birth it like a pf cake? If I overturned the box, which is a shoe-box, and emptied the contents into a FC it would hold its shape and would increase surface area. Would that not yield more fruit than simply applying a casing? I haven't seen anyone do this but it seems like an easy way to increase yields. What do you think?
