I usually read their accents' origins; how good their English is (I studied to be an ESL teacher); how much they are regarding me and my day (a little empathy sends all the right cues); how rich they look; how much of a hurry they're in (they'll probably forget); if they're drunk, what kind of drunk; is their walet out? Are they talking about simple things so they can search for their walet and keep the conversation going.
There's a lot of cues that affect my service. Sometimes people use those cues to get special treatment from me, then don't tip too, so it is what it is. I'd never spit in someone's food or something, but if you are a known bad tipper, or look clueless about it, you're either going to get an abrupt "here." or "I'm sorry, sir, was there a problem with the service you received today?" from me and that's it.

I did it for a couple months.
I'd usually average a pizza every 45 minutes and I'd get less than $10 in mileage on an average evening shift. Averaged 2.xx a delivery for the tip. When all was said and done I didn't clear 10 an hour. Not worth it at all considering it's hard on your car (constant short trips and starting and stopping the engine) and you risk getting in an accident. Also most insurance companies won't cover you if you are driving for compensation.

I worked at Dominoes Pizza for a while. We would enter the addresses into a computer when we took an order. If it was an address known not to tip, then the name on the order was Phil Lesh. Always. That way, we knew not to rush those orders.
that's fucked up bro
like keeping a record of peeps who dont tip is just.. what's the word.. mean?, and maybe kind of psychotic..
i got a tip for u op, dont the above^, treat everyone as equals regardless whether they tip or not
It wasn't my system. It was in place before I ever worked there. That being said, I thought it was clever. I agree with the other folks, that people who don't tip, don't deserve the same quality service that people who do tip do.
Drunk people are often good tippers. College students are often bad tippers.
