i actually grew stones in a microwave sterolized jar, but getting the water content right was a guessing game and i did it by doing a bunch of jars, and only one was close... i have to go back and do a lot more work.
even then, the jar lids didnt stay on, and to make a workable tek i have to get around this, i think i can, but i have not. so i lucked out a bunch so far.
but you dont have any data to support that it CANT be done i know because i've personally done it so you cant possibly have data supporting that ALL microwave methods will fail.
also in order to get solid results you have to start with a specific microwave at a specific room temp ... or some form of control...
like i said theres no GOOD Tek at the moment, but theres no reason he shouldnt play with it.

i agree that its retarded hard... i said he should use a pc...

if there was even 1 reason he SHOULDNT then "to each his own" wouldnt hold up.

for instance you SHOULDNT grab hot mains barehanded.
and there's never a time when you go "to each their own"... about that.
unless you count an illusion, but clearly thats not "grabbing hot main's barehanded. "

What do they look like and what's protocol for sterilizing BRF cakes in them?
if you want to grow mushrooms in the easiest possible path to success, go watch "lets grow mushrooms" and follow those instructions, microwaves are complicated and unless you get very lucky you'll be trying and failing a lot of different things.
if you want to try, i'll be happy to discuss some of what i've tried with you over emails.

yes to do many jars fast in the microwave you'll need to carve refractory bricks and paint a ring of susceptor on it, but you'll have to get the susceptor just right because otherwise you will overheat your grains and just burn them in minutes.
and since no one has come up with a good susceptor ratio for shroom jars yet... it would be faster to use a pc.

Did you try and fail?
here is some barley which went past 150C, my thermometer maxed out at that point, this still had moisture in it.

it was just used peanut butter jars with grains, which often come with plastic lids. I can fit large containers in my microwave which do not fit in my small PC. I do a lot of dual heating with PCs & microwaves.

monitoring moisture content is easy, you simply weigh the jars. I don't have much issues with lids, you turn the power down once they are hot enough. I have put jars in plastic bags so they steam up and do not readily draw in dirty air while cooling. I have put containers over jars for the same reason. You can also have things like petris in larger filtered containers, so when cooling down the incoming air is filtered.
I use metal lids on glass jars, which you will also hear plenty of incorrect ignorant bullshit about.
Fractional sterilization works well in microwaves, just make sure you are actually following the correct instructions though. The one on this site and in most textbooks is incorrect. You can see info here about that http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21174437
