Pink/orange contam... wth?

Hi all,
So, this is my second grow (doing B+ this time around, did Amazonian for the first grow) and I'm concerned about my jars. They have these weird pink/orange-ish spots that don't really look like mold (due to them not being blue/green/gray) but definitely aren't normal either. In these pics the less-colonized areas look a bit gray/blue, but in person it definitely just looks like uncolonized BRF. I was wondering if perhaps the spots are just rust trapped in the mycelium, if such a thing can happen, since there was a little rust left on the lids of my jars after my first grow. I'd greatly appreciate some guidance before I decide whether it's safe to pop these jars open... thanks

Both of those are heavily contaminated. You shouldn't have foil on the jars. It will ruin your filter material/dry verm layer.

Well, that's good to know - guess that's what I get for starting with old directions from a friend. Thanks for the help!

Damn dude I should have noticed you had foil still on top of your jars. Sorry dude I'm a bit out of it today. Anyways yes you must take the foil off after sterilizing or PCing.
Yea dude you need to toss those outside maybe in a pot breaking all the cakes up really well and lightly covering them in potting soil and I'm sure you'll get some good mushies out of them still.
Did you PC or did you steam sterilize?
