Hey gang
I am sorry that I have not been active much of late, but I have been busy with this year's growing season and my husband's immigration. He should be in the USA, Next month. YAY!.
Anyway, I have some photos to share. I had some things die off in the greenhouse over the winter, but other things surprised me with how hardy and resilient they are.
I have some photos here of my greenhouse as it is today, in April 2016. I am including some photos of 2 year old Trichocereus cacti, grown from seed. As a bonus, My Mamilopsis senilis was in bloom today, when I went in the greenhouse. I hear they are an ethnogen, but I have not tried this variety; regardless, It is a show stopper for sure. Enjoy!

Just read through all of this, fantastic plants! Really cool to see the progression.
You're definitely doing stuff right.
You're big trich has gotten huge! That pup really took off! Did it grow much on the original stock as well?

Honey your green house is amazing
You've done a great job and inspired me to organize mine so it's easier to work in
Keep up the great work and keep them pictures coming! I hope all goes well with your husbands immigration, I would imagine where he's from you won't have any issues getting and keeping him here
BTW you still wanna give me a soul reading?

Hello everyone. I have been busy with the start of this year's growing season. Lots of things needed separated and repotted. All along with that, I have been dealing with immigration for my husband. I am sorry that I have not been as active, but I do have some things to share.
The first one is here a one year old Trichocereus pachanoi, from seed.

The next image is of my mini Kanna -colony. Its showing some acid metabolism and looks a bit scraggley but its honestly pretty healthy

This next plant has me all excited (does happy dance). This is one of my Trichocereus huascha, (red). It is putting out a crazy number of pups. There are at least 5 pups in this photo

On the south side of my greenhouse I made a couple earth-berm raised beds. I have some exotic vegetables growing there. This image is of some Chinese vegetable seed. was labled as: (Chinese cabbage "or" Gai-lan".

Everyone always likes my Trichos, So I decided to give some of my (first) trichos new homes in larger appx 3-5 gallon containers. This one looks quite happy. it is starting to streach and grow upward finally rather than bloat and look like a cactus-ball. lol

I know this image will excite some people. As a Shaman, it is important to me to grow many kinds of sacred plants including trees. In this photo are my Boswellia nana - (Dwarf Socotra Frankincense) and a Bursera species, (Copal) from Oaxaca mexico. I also purchased A Myrrh tree this spring. A Commiphora pyracanthoides (fire-myrrh), but it is not in the photo.

This marks the first whole year, I have had this trio of, Lophophora (texanas). They did ok during the winter, however the one on the lower right, got a (spot) of orange-rot. Most likely caused by a fungus gnat. I let this group get a bit wet too long for a couple days last December and learned that (moist) soil can make your "yotes" go downhill fast! I ended up using nfz puffer (for cats and dogs), on the affected area. I covered the mushy orange spot with (Nitrofurazone). Now, a few months later its recovered, and the orange spot has turned into a rough brown plant scab. . yay. it survived.

This next image is of my Lophophora decipiens. a bud began to form a day or 2 ago when I had it on the windowsill, So I decided to move the plant outside to the greenhouse so it could get some sun and perhaps benefit from insect pollenation. I have noticed that this variety is self fertile. this plant has bloomed and set self fertile seed pods before. I have several small self-seeded "clones" from this plant.
http://
This pot by my front door was raved by many years of icy winters that have cracked the glaze. Its nice having it by my front door. perfect place for my edible- Carpobrotus edulis (hottentot fig), and sempervivum "merlin"s . lol

I put a few plants on my cold frame so that they would benefit from more daytime sunlight. See if you can guess some of these varieties without looking at the tags. Also, the one on the right side of the photo that is purple, is my oldest cactus. It is COVERED in pups and bloom buds. I was telling my husband that it looks like a crown, or maybe a birthday cake, since all the budlets make it look like candles

This next one is one of my aloes. This variety is an Aloe arborescens. this variety will eventually form a woody stem and turn into a small tree with squid like aloe rosettes at the ends of branches. It is also a species that has medicinal properties similar to Aloe-vera/ (barbadensis).

These 2 trees are Willow Acacia, or (Acacia Salicina). Apparently it is one of the acacia species that can contain DMT and other alkaloids. This is the second year for these 2 trees, and I will have to divide the 2 of them later this season, and give them individual pots.

The last image in this update is of a couple Trichocereus species I have. they are also some of the first Trichos' I have tried growing from seed. The yoghurt cups have seedlings for (red flower pyrethrim chrysanthamum). In the background of the photo behind the cyclone fence, on the right, is a Titan arum / Amorophallus species that a friend of mine who works at a dispensory, gave to me as a gift. If it blooms I will make sure to take photos. It seems to like the spot I put it in. well drained, warm, moist fair amount of light, and sheltered, so. . lets cross fingers and hope it blooms outdoors in the yard. LOL.
And Spacey, hun.. if you want me to do a (reading) for you, I am more than willing to do that for you. PM me more about Oracle-readings.

Oh wow, that Gymnocalycium on the right side with all the flowers is so gorgeous! I didn't know it could live on it's own roots, I have a grafted purple on just like it that had a nice bud that I accidentally murdered by repotting it. It's making more now, and some pups! Which I'm totally going to attempt to root on their own. I have an orange one as well but I much prefer the purple one, but I want the Hylocereus stock that it's attached to.
Fantastic collection!

Hey there The-r3dz
Yeah the (purple)Gymnocalycium mihanovichii var. friedrichii can make their own nutrients unlike the:(reds, yellow, white) ones. in the purple color varient there is quite a range from green and purple to deep plum color.
Most of the purple ones should root fairly easily from pup. I just lay mine on wet sandy potting soil. Yeah I may get some flak from some people about cacti on potting soil, but it works for root set. I just amend mine and add a fair amount of sand too. That way, the container can retain some moisture yet drain well.

I'm totally going to see if the pups will root on their own. Thanks for the advice! It's interesting that you use potting soil for rooting! I like it, no flak here
I have trouble finding potting soil that isn't peat moss but I use it for my trichs at about 50%

yeah.. I mean I wouldn't keep a cactus in peat based soil forever, but it works till roots have set. At least, that's what I do. After that I repot and put into soil that has more gravel and limestone, pumice, etc.

That's pretty interesting, it seems like the cactus really doesn't care that much as long as there is some sort of terrestrial material that it can cling on to.

Hey gang. Here is what's growing next to the greenhouse this summer. Inca purple corn, and Chenopodium capitatum. There are also some cucumbers, marigolds, and Chinese mustard greens.

That is Beautiful Miss. Kay
BTW I have a question you may be able to answer. Have you ever seen any Blue or purple SWEET corn? I've really been looking for a blue sweet corn but I have yet to find anything
Purple is close enough to Blue for me but I have a plan to gather a certain few colors of sweet corn in hopes to make some cash selling edible arrangements on certain holidays to match the colors
I'll tell you my plan in PM if you care to know I just didn't wanna place it flat out on the forum for everyone else to steal and use their selves

Good luck with the poppies, I've never gotten mine to survive past an inch tall
