When I don't have a free tray to use, I just dump it into a thick cup or Tupperware and toss in the freezer. When I need it, I set my wire steak rack on top of boiling water and set the cup on the rack. Thaws out quickly and I just measure out the amount I need.

This is great Munch. I was just thinking about switching up my media and this is going to work perfect. Any reason this wasn't added to your videos thread? Looks like you've got a bunch of gems on your channel. People should check them out if they haven't already. I especially liked this one.

I made some agar about 500 ml worth and used a single ice cube worth of wbs grain soak water. My plates are running pretty slow and weak looking. Some stalling out completely.
Would you say i should up the ice cubes to anywhere between 5 and 10 per 500 ml?

I think there is some variation between millet water, oat water, rye water, etc. Millet seemed to be the weakest brew, while the oat seemed to be the strongest brew. I diluted my recipe because at one point, my agar was nutrient rich and growing all kinds of funky shit. Never had stalling problems, thou. Depending on your grains and how you prepared them, there is probably a good amount of YMMV to consider.

Nice idea with the ice cube trays. I just had mine in a jar in the fridge. It went bad before I needed any more agar.
