How to keep the skunks away while tripping?

When I take mescaline, I like to have a fire going. Problem is there are a lot of skunks around where I live and they are very bold. On my last trip, one of the skunks came within three feet of me and looked me straight in the eye.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the skunks during my last trip, this time I would like to be able to just focus on the trip and not having to worry about skunks. But how can I keep them away?

Get a blank gun. No permit required for one. Fire a blank and any unwanted animals will stay away. Now as long as you're not trespassing or causing trouble no one will give you any problems for firing a blank once you tell them why you did it.

I'd like to mention that blanks still shoot paper and that you could hurt the skunk. Dunno if you care or not. Firecrackers seem more feasible anyways.

You don't have to aim at the skunk. Shoot at the ground and it will be equally as effective. Just don't be close enough to the skunk that it could spray you when you scare it like that.

Right, just spreading some pertinent information.

Gun fire, blank or not is probably the LAST thing you want to do in this day and age, where people complain about every fucking thing under the sun, spy on each other, and cops shoot unarmed people, let alone someone with a legit firearm. How would they know you're shooting blanks?? Why would you even consider engaging in any activity that is likely to draw attention while you are tripping????
Collect a few rocks or sticks and toss 'em in the general direction of the skunk.

Exactly, no way I am shooting blanks or even fire crackers around here while I am tripping. Last thing I need to start being questioned by a cop while frying on mescaline.
I will try collecting some rocks for tossing. What is the range that skunks can spray? and obviously I dont want to hurt the skunk.

Put food out further away from you. They want warmth and comfort as much as you do, but hunger will take over. Just give them a solid 20 foot or more radius. Our compost pile far in the back of our property kept all the animals in the woods.
Please nobody hurt innocent animals just so you can take drugs, or for any reason whatsoever unless to eat.

Maybe try banging on some pots and pans to make the loud noises you require. And you could even use them to make dinner/breakfast for yourself when you come down.
Could even make some of your own music or something while you're on your trip.
Maybe a bongo drum?? I dunno, just a thought. I agree with above posters, bad idea to be firing a gun these days, especially in an urban environment. Unless it's a common thing to hear gun shots going off.

Where I live gunshots in the woods are common. As long as you aren't on someone else's property it's all good. But for the most part when I trip in the woods I go to a nature preserve where there is thousands of acres so even if someone heard a gunshot (which is doubtful) they wouldn't even know where to begin to look lol. It really depends where he is going to be. I personally never had a reason to bring a gun out there, but a blank gun is harmless and legal in that situation. Where I live there is also dangerous wildlife though so it's far more justifiable if I was to be caught with a real gun/blank gun.

I live in a suburban area so I can't shoot or make a lot of noise, I will be tripping at night with people in houses near me.
I could and would much rather go to a nature area, the problem is none of the nature areas around where I live allow fires. Most of the parks dont even allow people after dark, I found one park which has no sign saying you can't be in it after dark so that is where I go if I went to trip in nature at night. However, I think making a fire there would just be asking for trouble.

Yea it's best to be as law abiding as possible when your tripping to avoid being confronted by anyone. It took me a long time to find the nature preserve I mentioned. I had to talk to several people and use google maps to find it, but now that I have it's hands down my favorite place to trip. As long as you have access to a vehicle you should be able to locate an ideal place to trip in your area, but even if you can't the set up you have sounds alright. I wish you luck with your skunk problem.

I have access to a vehicle but I am hesitant to drive long distances while tripping.
A few people on this forum have scolded me for endangering people because I do often drive when I trip, but I try not to go far and I do it on roads I am very familiar with.
Funny thing is I am the sort of person who was always very careful about not driving if I had been drinking, but when I trip I always think I can do anything, and to my credit I have never had any issues driving while tripping. A couple of times, I've had to turn back because I realized I was tripping too hard to be driving but thats unusual.

Just don't ingest any psychedelics until you reach your destination and don't leave until you have come down.

I got an idea... blow those little mother fuckers away with a 12 gauge. Problem solved. Plus you'll have a tasty meal after your trip. Just kidding. Try making some loud noises. Maybe that will startle the little rascals & send them running to the hills. A very long time ago I let someone borrow a pair of shorts & they got sprayed with a skunk... I had to throw the shorts away because the stench would not get out even after washing them several times.
