I was going to joke about him being illumnati but no...
He died of a heroin overdose, people took pictures of them posing with his dead body, not actually knowing he had passed.
Still covered in shit from the night before. He also skipped the embalming process.
Not too big of a fan (could say I despise him) but he was pretty interesting to say the least. .
I do like how revolting he was in the eyes of society. He died too soon and not at his peak, fuck you GG, bite it you scum.

The average person will find it difficult to understand the reasons why someone would live their life in such an extreme way, but a look back at GG’s life gives us some clues as to why he was never able to conform with society’s view on what is “normal”. In order to live a normal life, you need to be surrounded by normality and GG’s childhood was filled with darkness and chaos that was a million miles away from what most people experienced growing up.
GG’s real name was Jesus Christ Allin. His father was a religious fanatic and an abusive recluse. He named GG after Jesus Christ because he was convinced that he had been visited by God and had been told that his new born son would grow up to be a great man.
GG grew up in a log cabin without running water or electricity. He described his childhood as a primitive existence where his family were held like prisoners. He said that his father despised pleasure and that they had very little contact with other people.
In 1961 when GG was just 4 years old, his mother and the kids managed to escape and setup a new life without their abusive father. His mother changed his name to Kevin before he started school, so that he wouldn’t be bullied for being called “Jesus Christ”. Unfortunately, GG struggled in school and ended up in the “Special Needs” class. This made it difficult for him fit in and he was the victim of extreme bullying.
When GG started high school he began to listen to Punk Rock music and his love for the New York Dolls inspired him to start cross dressing. GG would often go into high school dressed as a woman and his brother said that this made the bullying a lot worse.
When you watch videos of GG Allin, it’s easy to brand him as a monster, but after learning about his childhood it’s clear that the deck was stacked against him from the very first day he was born. How could he be expected to live a normal life, when he was never given the opportunity to learn what was “normal”.
GG Allin died of an accidental Heroin overdose after one of his concerts in New York at just 36 years old. It’s important to emphasize that his death was accidental, because he always said that he was going to die on Halloween by commiting suicide on stage. GG believed in the afterlife and he felt it was important to die when you were at your peak, so that your spirit would be at it’s strongest in the next life.
There’s no doubt that GG’s behaviour on stage reflected that of a Monster, but very few people are born bad and I can’t help but feel that he became a product of the environment in which he grew up in. As a child he was surrounded by abuse and as an adult he numbed the pain with alcohol, music and drugs.
I wanted to write this article because GG will forever be remembered as a maniac who struck fear into the most hardened Punk Rock fans, but beneath the extreme exterior there was a person who was destined to fail and yet they found a way to succeed in their own kind of way.
GG always said that he would have been a serial killer if he hadn’t of become a musician and whilst this may be true a part of me has always wondered why he never did anything to anyone who didn’t put themselves in a position where they could have been effected by GG’s behaviour. Afterall, fans had to sign a disclaimer before attending his concerts which stated that they were ok with being subjected to the kinds of things that were likely to happen during his performances. Ultimately, if you went to one of his concerts, you knew what you were getting yourself into and this crazy way of managing the chaos could perhaps be a sign that there was more morality to GG than he’d like to give away when the cameras were pointing at him.
GG Allin will forever be remembered as a Monster by the mainstream media, but I can’t help but feel that his on stage performances were more extreme showmanship than extreme abuse. If GG truly was a Psychotic Monster, I’m sure he wouldn’t have been able to refrain from letting his extreme behaviour spill over into the real world.
I don’t enjoy watching GG’s performances or listening to his music, but I do feel sad when I watch him perform because I can’t help but feel that he’s more like the Monster you see in a Freak Shows as opposed to the kind of Monster who is inherently bad.
GG’s music, beliefs and performances earned him a cult following amongst Hardcore Punk Rock fans and the very fact that we’re still writing about him in 2015 shows that his legacy will live on…
