distilled water used in brf recipe

so i used distilled water in my recipe for my cakes 2:1:1 ratio. I have had a discussion on here about distilled water vs. tap water for dunking. This led to me doing some research on ions in tap water and how distilled water contains no ions . researching further ions help conduct electricity , plus there are minerals in tap water that help with spores, mushrooms and ect. now here is my question, would it hinder growth in any stage with using distilled water instead of tap water.

Basically, as long as the distilled water contains H2O you are fine.

23 July, I used distilled water in my BRF and in the pressure cooker.
I am still waiting for any of the jars to show any signs of life. I got nada.

The PF tek on the site calls for distilled water (just sayin, if you need a source; it's fuckin water!). If you didn't get any growth, you made some error in the process.

No matter how gnarly your tap water might be, it's going to be just fine after hanging out in a pc for an hour. Distilled water is okay for the first half of cultivation. But not needed.

distilled water dont wanna stay distilled, it wants to be in equilibrium with its close neighboors so it'll steal some minerals from your cakes/whatever. tap all the way.

i know when i use distilled in my pc i cant pc as long because distilled evaporates alot faster than tap. i just thought it was pretty interesting about how distilled water is non conductive

its pretty basic chemistry, like you mix acid and alkaline together makes ph-neutral because it mixes, equilibrium would be what the h+ and oh- are doing.

Food for thought,
I think distilled water only leeches nutrients out when rinsing grains. When added to substrate or cakes it will dilute the nutrients some but the nutrients/water are either uptaken by the mycelium or the water evaporates in which case the nutrients are left behind (like distillation).
I definitely prefer my tap water because it is full of calcium but unless there is run-off i dont think in the grand scheme of things that any nutrients are lost.
I think tap is advantageous because distilled is slightly too hypotonic which causes the nutrients to absorb slower and it doesn't have any additional nutrients like the tap water does.
On the other hand, a hypotonic solution might be preferable for the idiophase since water is a little more important than exogenous nutrients IMO.

What do you guys think?

I think I would rather microwave water from a pond than use distilled water to hydrate grains, substrates, and mist with.

I've wanted to try pond or river but im too lazy
After talking to beer fanatics i dig the idea of sourcing from natural sources but its so easy to use whats at home.

any brewery that makes more than a few thousand barrels a year uses city water, heats it up to remove free chlorine, then a filter, likely RO. then adds back in minerals if necessary. if they're not using city water, they're turning their natural water into city water themselves first with fancy filters and heat.

Thats too bad, not very surprising though. Went from a good thing to just another marketing ploy.

we use the same marketing ploys, it's a huge thing in the industry to say you're green green green, and then throw your recycling in the trash. green green green and we totally use more electric and natural gas than solar and bio diesel. we brag about making a few hundred gallons of diesel a week to investors and people taking tours but that's like 5% of our boilers power use. we make it seem like it's 100% we brag about how our solar takes out huge energy costs, the things will never pay for themselves, ever. but the feds and the state gave us some grant money so thank y'all for buying that shit for us.

If there is fluoride in the tap water (tin foil hat time), what effects could that have on it all?

there is a difference between flouride that is used in teeth cleaning and flouride they use to treat tap water. flouride in tap water is regulated, as far as i can tell the flouride that is used in teeth cleaning is bad for human consumption and has seriius health risks. if u have flouride in uiur water, dont use it to grow mushies, google flouride in tap water once. alot can happen
