lmao!
I remember an interview I saw with Trump where he was saying he was drawing bigger crowds than Bernie, and the newscaster said, 'Really? Bigger than 28,000 in Portland and LA?' and he said 'well, we drew 15...' lmao!

The closer we get to single payer, the more control the govt asserts over healthcare, the worse these problems will get...
Quote:
Ironically, increased FDA oversight might even create more shortages - researchers note that rather than invest in infrastructure or submit to enhanced inspections, businesses may decide simply to stop producing drugs. "This is one of the byproducts of a focus on cost in health care," explained Pines. "There may be a demand for medication, but it may not be in a company's best interest to produce it because the amount they can charge is often lower than the amount it costs to manufacture it."
It seems simple enough: If companies produce more drugs, more drugs will be available to ERs. But given that the majority of drugs on shortage in emergency rooms are sterile injectables with low profit margins, don't expect that to happen anytime soon. "There are many ways to mitigate drug shortages, but there's no magic bullet to solve them," said Pines. "This could and potentially will get worse."

single payer will decrease the cost of drugs and treatments drastically while increasing their availability.
I dont know if you realise how expensive US healthcare is? things in Europe cost a fraction of what it does in America.
I would say that changing the healthcare situation alone won't change everything. There need to be other changes in order for the industry to flourish. For example, the structure of US lobbying should be wiped out. Big pharma etc shouldn't be able have an influence on how these policies manifest.

Oh I don't know, how about when assholes raises the price 5000% on a drug just because they can.
Or it cost some in the US $100 a pill and anywhere else is a 25¢.

The only reason drug companies could raises prices like that is if they have government enforced monopolies.

Are you arguing against patents?

The asshole in question was able to raise the price that much because nobody else was willing to make even though the patent was long expired. The reason a pill is cheaper is because the US subsidizes it.
