In fact, there are only two major subgroups among Democratic primary voters that back Sanders over the former secretary of state: Voters under 50 (48 percent for Sanders, compared to 46 percent for Clinton) and those who identify as independent or Republican-leaning rather than as traditional Democrats.
Lol, what?! "Republican leaning dems" support Bernie over Clinton? What this tells me is that even democrats are starting to now see that republicans are better for the middle class than any establishment democrat. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it...
I've heard many life-long Republicans say they are voting for Bernie, because he is the only candidate who is genuine, and the Republican party has gone bonkers.

Since this has been the main Bernie thread, I decided to post here. It appears that Bernie is going to win this thing. He is beating Hillary by quite large margins in the early states, and he's not doing too bad in national polls either. He doubles Hillary's lead over Republican frontrunners in many instances.
Gentlemen, we will soon claim our victory!

Gentlemen, we will soon claim our victory!
I still see people undoubtedly predicting a Hillary slam dunk, and she looks worse as could be without any ability whatsoever to improve her image and/or numbers. The DNC has to kow things will only get worse as things progress, and she's out on display in debates and interviews. They had the debates on Saturdays and even a Sunday for a reason, to hide Hillary's incompetent and self destructive ass from public view.
Both sides of the establishment haven't a clue as to why things aren't turning out as they usually do i.e more money equals guaranteed instant support. Too many people's lives were spun around and made way worse since Obama, and it's not over yet with more disappointments to fuel this newfound grassroots uprising that has the establishment with their backs against the wall.
We have a government that's ridiculing it's citizens while embracing total strangers in hopes of votes and cheap labor, and at the expense of "our" nation.

I'm just watching the circus from the other side of the Pacific Ocean, but can Sanders really win the Presidential Election?
At the start of the campaign Sanders seemed like the best candidate for the American people, but I figured he would never win because of all the brainwashing and corporate whores in America.

I don't think he can win the general election but he can win the primary. The anointed one has serious problems and may well (and should) be indicted over this server bullshit.

Surely he could beat Trump in a general election.
I think Hillary's crashing and burning. Good riddance, I've always felt that the more a person wants to be President the less suitable they are for the role.

That's true of any position of power. The more some asshole floor rat wants to be supervisor, the worse they would be. People who want power generally shouldn't be given power, but they are the ones who seek those positions, so they end up getting them. Not always, of course, but usually.

8 years ago, you would have been right. We're living in unique times though. American people are fed up with 'business as usual'.

Well said. There are powerful grassroots movements on both ends of the spectrum. We're going to see some crazy shit in 2016 and beyond. The stock market may crash once again this year. The political atmosphere is shifting dramatically. Change is coming, for better or worse.

Most American's don't keep track of politics, I predict Hillary will win the primary and the election just because people will remember her name.
For now the polls show Bernie in the lead, because these polls reflect people who actually follow politics to some degree.

Or to keep Ron Paul Bernie Sanders out of the public eye, Hillary has her name to keep her in the race, she really doesn't need the debates because people vote by Brand.
I'm not a Democrat and live in a closed primary state, so I can't vote on the matter, but would consider voting for Bernie if he actually wins the primary. Past that its Green.

Venezuela, who has implemented most of what Bernie has advocated over the years, is now on the brink of disaster...
.Quote:
Despite Emergency Measures, Venezuela Is "Past the Point Of No Return," Barclays Says
Quote:
Last Friday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro declared an economic emergency, as low oil prices assail the country, contributing to a dire economic situation marked by shortages of basic goods and services. Referring to the Latin American country's financial situation, he told Congress, “The figures are catastrophic...The spirit of the emergency decree is to bring about a movement to protect the people.” The special decree powers that allowed him to make the move gives Maduro 60 days to implement a broad range of reforms. However, Venezuela may be past the "point of no return," according to Barclays Plc.
I wonder if this is why he is leaving off the nationalization of private business off of this years campaign platform. In the past he has promoted nationalizing everything from banks to energy to media. Maybe seeing how it's working out in Venezuela has changed his mind, for now...
Quote:
Sanders's LUP platform called for the nationalization of all U.S. banks, public .... lauding its activists for focusing a “spotlight” on the need for “real Wall Street reform.”

Can you show us how Bernie wants to emulate Venezuela rather than Northern Europe? Thanks in advance.

America has a bit more resources than Venezuala lmao
If you're telling me that the wealthiest, most powerful country in the history of the world can't do what Scandinavia can, and do it better, you're fucking crazy lol
They weathered the recession better than the rest of the world.
