Reishi is a wonderful mushroom to consume for it's many health benefits, and not too dificult to grow at home. You might find more help in the Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms forum. If a mod doesn't move this thread then go ahead and post this there. It should receive better replies.

I wish I knew more about mushrooms. Everyone makes morels sounds like they taste like orgasms feel.

Living mostly in the southwestern US, I too have never tried a morel. They must be tasty considering those up north put so much effort into hunting for them each season. Not sure about that orgasmic part, lol.

I haven't had a morel either, even though I could take a 30 minute drive and be in their range in the wild and find me some... I hear they are amazing though.
Reishi is something that has interested me in the past too. I find them wild around here all the time and have a bunch of them dried, but have never gotten around to trying them.... I hear there are tons of benefits though.

Reishi is such a beautiful mushroom; I love finding them. I dry them, and make a dual extraction plus use the dried shrooms for tea.
Here's some fact on a very conservative website. http://examine.com/supplements/ganoderma-lucidum/

Reishi, and others, are really good for health. In my experience, they aren't gonna be the magic bullet for anything, but some say they are anti-virals. Paul Stamets says the beta-glucans in 'medicinal mushrooms' are really good for IBS/UC/gut issues.
