I can safely say drugs saved my life. That goes for all drugs I have tried, including heroin. I was a video game addict for 10 years and literally had no life. Imagine 24/7 doing nothing but eating junk food, playing video games, and going to sleep.
Drugs showed me how fucking stupid video games are. It started out with oxycodone, I would take some and instead of craving video games, I just wanted to chill and talk to people. Then I started to smoke weed, and that started to open my mind quite a bit. I wanted to see the world and change my life around completely. Getting high was just the most mind blowing experience I had ever had, and I started to do things I normally might not do, while high and it made things much more enjoyable.
Fast forward a few more years, and I tried psychedelics. They basically laid out my whole life and showed me how to rebuild my ego and personality. Instead of being a pissed, depressed guy who spent his days indoors infront of a screen, I was a happy guy who wanted to make a million friends and enjoy music and drugs with them all haha
I have tried some pretty hard drugs (hardest would probably be heroin) but none have really made my life worse. I do spend a lot of money on drugs but considering how useful they've been, it is the best investment I can think of making. I hope it stays like this for years to come.

I'm pretty much just a psychs guy at this point of my life to be honest
and just L & mushrooms, that's about it
occasionally I'll smoke out but that's really just used as a trip enhancer
I am somewhat of a heavy drinker although I've curbed that quite a bit, and again, lol, nowadays my heavy drinking sessions are typically reserved for...you guessed it, tripping
that's about as far as my substance scope goes these days
my past includes other shit of course (mainly a long & rough stint with coke & benzos), but those days are well behind me

Not to say psychedelics aren't a very positive spiritual tool. I take back what I said. You learn about yourself, and can use what you have learned to mold a better person in the long-run. I would say most of what you gain is inner knowledge if that makes any sense.
On the less positive side, you can learn what you are capable of doing to fuel an addiction. Commit crimes you thought you never would, do things you thought you would never do.
Experience feelings you thought impossible. Be it the dread and horror of a bad trip or the pure euphoria of a good one.
There is always more to experience, life is just a long journey after all.
I agree, psyches are an amazing philosophy and spiritual tools. I learned a lot about life and so much more. Living life and learning things though is a much better path to true enlightenment. Sounds counter intuitive but it's the truth. Psyches can only teach you so much.
Also other drug experiences I wouldn't take back but so many addictions and unfortunate experiences, ods, ruining of relationships, financial ruin. That's just the dark side of it, some people can try the experience and not have their lives ruined but I don't think those drug experiences are essential to the human experience and often cause more problems.
