Cobweb?
    #22081171 - 08/12/15 12:27 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

You know the drill.  Cobweb or myc?

I've got 3 colonized tupperware containers with a  50% coir, 45% verm, 5% gypsum mix.
Spawn ratio was pretty high - 2 cakes per 48oz tray.
I put 2 cakes in the food processor, and broke the other 4 cakes up by hand.

The whole thing seemed finished around the 5-day mark.  It's now been 10 days, and I haven't seen much difference in myc density since then.  I had the tupperware lids on while they were colonizing, so that may explain why the myc is so fuzzy.

The areas in the picture that seem more dense are the pieces of cake that I crumbled by hand.  It is also worth noting that I have a lot of primordia/side pinning, but only a few knots on the surface of the substrate (as of yet).

This is my first attempt with anything other than cakes, so I'm unsure what the colonized substrate is supposed to look like exactly.  It looks like textbook cobweb to me, but the fact that it hasn't grown much in the past 5 days makes me think otherwise.

I don't want to spray with peroxide until I'm absolutely certain it is necessary.

As always, thanks for the help!

Looks like Mycelium to me, even looks like some hyphal knots/pins forming.

Definately. Cobweb IME tends to look like hairy/ not dense
