I currently have three cakes that are in my shotgun fruiting chamber,. I am about to add another couple cakes and a casing in the next couple of days my question is for light I have - 2x6500 K + 1 2700 K light. Now I can't remember if when I used to grow than if I had left on the light 24 hours a day or if there was a cycle like 12 on 12 off if anyone could please chime in with an answer I would be very very very appreciate it, don't want to mess these bad boys up when I am so close :-)
Thx, ganjaburger

I used 12/12 for years and it worked fine. Then, I tried 8 on/16 off. Same results. This is just my experience regarding light during fruiting. Most people make the mistake of thinking that mushrooms are pot plants. More light will not make them grow faster or bigger.
Since you may (or may not) be new to growing shrooms, listen to what Chronicr said; 12/12.

Lol..that's how I have my timer set (9am-9pm) that way I'm sleep most out the time :-) no one can tell. Me what will happen that I think I put my casing the fc to early... Only about 15% colonized on the top layer ..the "casing was an eye balled Mixture of coir/Verm...(more coir then Verm by a generous amount) took a colonized quart of brf/Vern, broke it up... Then in a Tupperware container I laid down about a half inch of casing mix down on the bottom, then as evenly as possible put the colonized brf pieces broken up to the Consistency of Reese's Puffs cereal, lol Then after spreading then as evenly as possible I covered with another maybe half inch of casing mix Made it nice and flat with little peaks and valleys, then covered it with the lid that had a small hole poked in it with Micro-pore tape over it. It was moving along (colonizing) the casing mix pretty quick...then appeared to start slowing down a bit the last couple days...so I threw in sgfc this morning. Should I let it just keep colonizing the top layer in till 100 percent colonization is reached and throw a light casing mix on top or what would u guys do in my situation?.. It was mdk was the "strain" if that matters, or helps? Every bit of info I have ever gotten from this website I have followed to the T and not one single time has any of it not worked all great for me, I love you guys And the fact that I have so many people willing to help out. Thank u guys in advance...for all the help..
Thx -ganjaburger

hahaaa....yep. 12/12 6500K = Best results in my honest opinion.
Other lights and timing may work but the above is best.
I do have some 8000K vegging lights for plants that I have used and they worked. But the 6500k is a rule of thumb though even passive light from a nearby window will work as well.
But for best outcome I'd used what works the best.
