Answer to the Age Old "How small a cutting can be rooted" question with pics

I Rooted a couple of Tiny cuttings recently that I thought I'd share. I didn't take exact height but I don't have large hands so you should be able to guesstimate the sizes. BTW no rooting hormones were used.

Tip of an Australian Hybrid Bridge X Pach "I Believe". I placed it inside of this old pot of dirt in my grow room for no longer than 1 month and this is what I found.
Here he is replanted to grow larger roots.
Here is the very tip of my Cereus Peruvianus Monstrose that recently caught a BAD CASE of the rot. I made 5 successful cuttings from it "all of which were much larger than this one" in which I planted a few of here and there that ALL caught the rot "either because it was already there but not visible or because I like to root with just TINY waterings every now and then". This was the last one I planted because of it's size and about 1 month and a week and a half later this is what I have.
Just letting you all know it is possible to root TINY cuttings if that's all you have to work with.
So no need to feel discouraged or to give up if you only have an inch or 2 left to work with.
All you guys remember and never give up

Thanks for sharing!
I never feel up for cutting my cacti really, at least the bigger ones. Seedlings are a bit easier for me to justify.
The only big columns I have cut were pachanoi and some were potentially PC, thankfully each column graft was successful.

That is nice. My smallest rooted cutting is about an inch high. Blue myrtle top when I did a graft.

I was just about about to suggest to spacey that now that he had success with that, he needs to try an even smaller piece to see HOW small he can truly have success with.
Good job though!

Not right now I don't. I was speaking with mt neighbor, who told me her daughter loved my cacti,so I gave her the tiny rooted cutting in a tint clay pot to give to her. I'll do another tiny one,and post back
