PSA: removing "upgrade to Win 10" alert permanantly 2

there have been a few threads discussing windows 10 and its annoying popup, and as far as i know nobody mentioned this way to get rid of it i was just blocking the gwxux.exe app with my antivirus before, but found the easy to way completely remove it
some quick notes:
A: this wont work if you have automatic updates enabled. the alert will show up next time you restart
B: the process might be slightly different in Win7(i'm basing this on 8.1), but you still need to uninstall the same update
C: there is nothing else in this app other than the Win 10 update. so you arent compromising any sort of security or function by uninstalling it
the thing you need to uninstall is an optional windows update called "Update for Microsoft windows (kb3035583)"
to uninstall it:
1 : open windows update (Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Update)
2 : on the left, click "View Update History"
3 : on the upper right, click "Installed Updates"
4 : on the upper right, search the installed updates section for "kb3035583" without the quotes
5 : there should only be one result. ensure that it is kb3035583 and double click it.
6 : click "Yes" when it asks to to uninstall
7 : let it finish and restart your PC.

otherwise you can find the folder that its in, change ownership to full control on that folder to your account/admin, then change permissions to full control as well, be sure to check all sub folders for both of those if the option is listed.
then go into the folder and change all the .exe's to .ex which will render them unable to load, problem solved
to find the folder just cntl/alt/del, go to the gtx or w/e the fuck its called thats running, rightclick it and 'go to file location'

i check my app network traffic in KIS every once in awhile and there really are only a few left, ive disabled most of their privilages because they are useless info-gathering apps or printer networks that come with windows. ive never seen telerunner.exe
anyways i also searched my whole pc for "telerunner.exe" and didnt come up with anything either. it could be some sort of malware

I tried that, I do not have automatic updates installed, the thing still came back. I tried some other method too, that didn't work either.

according to microsoft,
CompaTelRunner.exe, Appraiser.DLL, and Invagent.DLL are all from the windows update (KB2952664) which has a lot of exes and dll,s etc.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2952664
its weird though, i have compatelrunner and appraiser.dll on my PC, but i dont have kb2952664 installed, and neither of those apps are attempting to access the network or even running. could be because i took away their privileges at some point. not sure

so the GWX folder is in system32, rightclick the folder-properties-security-advanced-owner-edit and put your account/administror full access and for subfolders checkbox. save.
then do folder-properties-security- click on account/administor and click edit and give full access again
then edit all the files taking the last letter off, pretty sure you only need to do the exe's

That is specifically one of the the things I tried (and even posted about it in another windows 10 update thread). But after restarting it was just fucking back. This shit just will not die on my computer for whatever reason.
Kinda tempted to remove my computer from the internet entirely and do of those teks and see what happens. Not to get all paranoid but I think when everyone got that notification it hid itself somewhere deep elsewhere. If it came back with no internet connection, that would prove the theory.

im using comodo firewall set to custom rules so basically anything that doesn't have permission has to ask for it and i get a popup. those files kept asking for permission so i put them on block/remembered.
its possible your firewall isn't setup to show u the alerts correctly, they updated all my favorite app's for those stupid touchscreen bullshit, and now everything is really hard to find on them, settings, logs, ect ect. its nothing like it used to be. it used to be something a network administator could easily navigate, now its like everything is hidden and your constantly clicking shit everywhere trying to find what your looking for.
thats what i really hate about these new windows versions, they are made for touch screens, and touch screens are made for some stupid retards who only use computers to jerk off to porn, its like one big "windows for dummys" book except anything productive is made to be not productive

i bet you have windows system restore turned on? pretty sure i have mine turned off. since its an OS file it prolly things the file is damaged so every reboot its restore the files

I won't turn it off just in case. Been a couple of times I have lost EVERYTHING because I couldn't revert back to a working state (no restore points existed).
Either way, I haven't used system restore since I built this computer so I don't think that's why. To my knowledge it doesn't just randomly restore.

yeah, system restore will automatically make "save points" if you have it turned on, but you have to manually go and choose to use system restore. either with your windows disc or in the app itself

well i know virus's like to hide inside system restores, they get deleted, then on reboot if you have restore turned on, they end up back on your computer even those a restore point wasn't used.
anyways i know for a fact this GWX shit isn't turning on after reboot, and that restore point is about the only reason i can think of as to why yours keeps coming back

its also possible you don't have "hidden files shown" turned on or whatever and you might have missed a few exe's or you didn't do the dll file
you should look back in that folder and see whats all in there and if any of that changed
