What kind are these?
    #22079129 - 08/11/15 10:42 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

I found these in the woods and I'm sure it's boletus of some kind but I have never seen any like these. The caps are bright red and kind of slimy feeling, the stem is thick, very dense and has a waffle-like pattern on it that kind of reminds me of morels. There was some kind of sap seeping from the under side of the cap. I'm curious to know what they are even if they aren't edible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think that's Boletus frostii, although I've never seen it in real life. Wait for a second confirmation.

In the meantime, read this>>>http://www.mushroomexpert.com/boletus_frostii.html
