It's where you see it all the time, I can tell a difference between the pics from a couple days ago. It's looking good, I'm excited for you bro! Mushrooms will teach you patience, lol they definitely do things on their time. Are you planning to case? And if so with what?

I was considering it, but after searching here and Google I honestly have no idea what would be best to case with.

Franks jiffy mix casing tek: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18880716#18880716 you don't have to case cubes but it is very beneficial. You can also use left over coir/verm

If I was to do the jiffy mix how would I pasturize without a pc? Could I do it the same way I pasturized the coir/verm for the mono? Or would steam sterilization in the jars be fine?

You can use jiffy mix straight out the bag without pasteurization, just hydrated.

Oh I thought it said to pasturize. Now what are your thoughts on fruiting immediately after casing vs waiting to colonize a bit.

About a 1/2 inch of jiffy mix as even as possible. After casing, I would wait till around 30% of casing is colonized or myc is poking through most of it. You can patch any un even spots for a more even pin set but not necessary.

some jiffy comes pre-pasteurized I believe, but most of them will need to be pasteurized. they do however come pre-limed (at least the ones I've seen, cant say 100% so read the label first).
and you dont need a PC to pasteurize, you just need a big pot. a PC can be used as a big pot tho, and its usually the biggest one us mush culters have.
keep core temps at 140-160F for 60-90 mins, frank also has a great write up on pasteurizing in his How Frank does his shit list.
also checkout SBJ's The Basics between those 2 is all you'll need to know to go real far!

Some good info there spacechildo If you want to pasteurize, just make sure not to go over around 160 for any length of time, sterilization will cause more harm than good. A lot of people use it straight out of the bag though including some TC's Quote:
PussyFart said: Jiffy Mix works just fine straight out of the bag as well.
No sterilization/pasteurization, just out of the bag and hydrated.
Here's another good link on pasteurization: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=11855283&page=0&vc=1#11855283 also you don't have to case if you don't want to, personal preference, much debate on the subject.

Here they are. I was able to birth this cake and keep the pins on, they are hanging on by thin whisps of myc. Fingers crossed that they will thrive. They were starting to poke through the dry verm layer.

All my tall jars pinned in vitro before they were birthed and all of them aborted, but a few days later they were covered in pins, so don't be too bummed if they don't make it. Sometimes they can turn into some big mushrooms, could go either way. You dunk those for 24 hours?

You may not feel like re dunking those for 18 more hours and re-rolling them, but if you compare the weight of those to cakes that have been dunked for 24, you can feel the difference. Mushrooms are around 90% water, so the longer dunk is preferred. But I guess six is better than none. You got the roll part down, those are covered nicely in verm.

Might as well. Just put them in again.
My mono seems to have hyphal knots unless I'm mistaken, everywhere. The sub doesn't seem close to 100% is that a sign of contam?

It's just the top of the sub as far as I can tell. Looking at the sides of the tub I'd guess 30-50%.

how poorly did you mix the spawn and sub? looking at the pic that does seem to be knotting so I'd go ahead and fruit it. post some pics of the sides, maybe something weird is going on?
