What size trays should I use per 1 quart colonized jar of grain?

Hi, sorry if this is a silly question but this is my first grow. I have 6 fully colonized, 1 quart jars of Rye berries. what size trays should I use per jar and how much coir and vermiculite, in inches, should I use for the base and casing per tray? I would highly appreciate your help with this. Maybe a monotub would be a better idea? But I'm thinking as I'm a noob, it's probably best to start with individual trays so if I do something wrong it's not all destroyed. Also, possible silly question again, can I still use Perlite with one big monotub and how? Thanks alot in advance x

You can spawn all six to a 66qt monotub. If the jars are clean spawn, then no need to worry about messing it up, mono tubs are virtually set and forget (just adjust polyfill according to humidity levels/mist if surface gets too dry). This is a good place to start http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17897163#17897163

So does a monotub not require perlite? If not, how do I keep it near 100% humidification? I read 'Frank's 12 steps to shrooms' and found it very useful, however he lost me when talking about polyfill. How is it used and how does it aid humidification? Thanks alot for your help Brother!

Perlite is only used for the SGFC, and really serves no purpose for bulk techniques. The montub is its own fruiting chamber, and works well, given you construct one properly. Spawn your grain jars (fully colonized) to a mix of coir/verm/gypsum (pasteurized or sterilized, your choice) and let it colonize in the tub for about a week. Don't forget about the liner, or you'll be getting side pins!!
When the surface looks 100%, you can either add a casing or fruit right away. The most important step, stuffing the polyfill, is actually pretty simple. Uncover the tape from the holes on your tub (high CO2 levels were needed for colonization; fruiting needs lots of FAE), and stuff the bottom holes TIGHTLY with polyfill, while dialing the top holes loosely with polyfil. And that's it! You'll find that bulk growing isn't as hard as it seems.

Lots of good info in this thread...listen to these guys...If you are worried about putting all your eggs in one basket, you can also do a couple smaller Mini-Mono Tubs...that's how I started bulk

Monotubs are great; they seem to produce larger fruits and more of them. However, this is 'putting all your eggs in one basket'. If it goes south, kiss all those jars goodbye.
I'd recommend spawning the seed to a coco coir/vermiculite mix and putting it into some of the aluminum bake trays with the plastic lids. Use the ones that are around 8"x11". Not exact on those measurements, but they're the ones you would put macaroni and cheese in for Thanksgiving.
One brick of coir, 8 cups of verm, and 6 quart jars will make 5-6 of those trays. Make the trays, wash your jars, and fill them up with spawn again and make a couple of monotubs. 6 quart jars will easily make 2 monotubs. If everything goes right, you'll be harvesting more than you can handle.

I'd just do a mono and start more jars

Do the best of both worlds , like me! Trays in monos

I'd seriously recommend not doing that low of a spawn ratio for your first time. 1 qt per 2 qt of substrate would be good. Or even do 1 pint per 2 qt tray. That's what I do lol. Plus you only have to dial in your tub once.
