Datura. Has anybody here actually dabbled in it? 1

Lol check out this post by LuSID9 on it.
Quote:
I've done my fair share of datura.... strange shit, one minute you're sitting in your living room with 6-7 people, next thing you know you're the only one there so, what do you do?... you look under the couch/in your fridge for all those people who were there just a minutes ago.
then you forget what you were just doing, turn to your friend and ask what you were just looking for... realize what you thought was your friend is really just a cushion on the couch.
then you go.. oh ya, I'm fucked up.. that's right.. that explains all this madness... then you forget that your fucked up again and hallucinate some more.
it's nothing at all like a psychedelic... no mental clarity what so ever, pretty much constant state of confusion and dysphoria.. you snap in and out of a waking dream like state with full blown hallucinations that are completely 100% realistic, totally different then the fractals and visual distortions of LSD and similar molecules (and not as cool as it probably sounds)
you cannot speak coherently no matter how hard you try... nor can you act like a sober, sane human being.. period... so don't go into public, cause you will most likely get arrested or put in the mental hospital.
you also cannot comprehend almost anything that is said to you by real or hallucinated people... if you can, you will completely forget what was said in about 2 seconds or less... or you will think they said something totally different and come out with a garbled inappropriate remark....
:example: sober person says "that's a nice house" you hear "why is that cat climbing on the ceiling?" so you reply "I don't know why we gotta use the green car for swimming when the bat hit the window I was like shit... wtf was I just talking about??"
or... friend says "we should go to the store, I'm hungry" you reply "I agree, lets go" and proceed to walk to the store with said friend.... on the way you meet up with a few more friends and have a good laugh.. start walking again, turn around to say goodbye and realize no one is there, including the friend who wanted to go to the store... at this point you may snap back into reality and realize you're really fucked up and should probably get back indoors ASAP.. or, you don't snap out of it and walk all around the city trying to find them again, dodging semi-transparent cougars and watching 100 little kids crashing their bikes at the same time in the middle of the road at 3 AM on a weekday... only to realize those kids aren't crashing in the middle of the road because your standing in the middle of a field.
the body load is EXTREMELY uncomfortable... as is the SEVERE dry mouth (10000 times worse than pot)
even the smallest unexpected sound will damn near give you a heart attack
If you're looking for a fun, safe, euphoric, recreational trip... stay the fuck away from datura.
If you're looking for a deep, insightful, meaningful, spiritual trip... stay the fuck away from datura.
if you want to see what it's like to be completely insane, delusional, paranoid, dysphoric, confused and extremely jumpy with a really shitty body load... datura might be your thing.
I got no interest in fucking with it, however I must say, the trip reports you find on here & Erowid are pretty fascinating.
Anybody here ever give it a whirl that is still alive to tell about it?

anticholinergics have the jumpiest shittiest feelings ever.
on Benadryls, my heater would make a clink, i'd hear it like a klaxon sounding and my ass would jump, and i'd see something out of the corner of my eye, instant alerts go off that it's a person in the room, but really it's just a giant spider or two crawling around my walls.

I've smoked Datura and Brugmansia, but smoking them doesn't seem to do much. Would not touch them now though either way. Beautiful plants though.

I've hallucinated animals running around in my house when combining normal doses of benadryl with opiates... dogs, and rats on the wall(?!). At normal doses on their own however, benadryl and doxylamine just make me super sedated.

meh it doesn't always work, for some reason.
but i've gotten dire hallucinations before, however. i've seen birds and cats and all manner of beast...but my favorite instance of hallucination is when i feel the vessels in my eyes constrict and i see my vision turn into a spike field of jungle vine and thorn, and my vision blurs into a single texture which starts overlapping many times over itself like building blocks.

Awhile ago, Asante made a post claiming that relatively small doses of atropine can intensify orgasms to the extent that they literally knock you unconscious. Been meaning to give that a try ever since.

probably is, considering your entire CNS goes haywire. temperature regulation goes out the window and you start heating up and cooling down, contributing to the delirium, and of course you can't sweat any longer; your eyes are practically bulging out of your head, and you can't see straight; lose sensation in your fingers and toes (not a problem for Zombi3 though), and your skin becomes clammy at the same time as you can't perspire, and i dunno why the fuck that is...blood pressure raises through the roof, and your mouth becomes arid as a desert.
veritable pantheon of poisoning symptoms.
real swell stuff. oh lets not forget visions of death, violence, sex, hoofs, all mixed with the severe clattering of teeth and all of the above.

oh and of course phantom cigarettes.
i smoked some phantom weed once, and i tried to pass the bowl to my friend...turns out he wasn't really there and i dropped my empty bowl through him like a mirage...and i STILL thought i had dropped my weed and was like "oh noes!"
yeah, the delirium also makes you really stupid.
oh and i tried to get up and walk over to my light, and reach out to shut it off, and my hand went through the lampshade...you know, the one that was actually in existence...still haven't figured out exactly how that happened. i mean, i got around to closing the light eventually for real but how was it that my hand went through it before? i dunno. it was almost like i imagined getting up to turn it off in the first place. either that or with enough delirium you really can put your hand through stuff.

I've been a little interested in it but I don't know if it's something I'd try as I've read it's fairly toxic and you have to be very careful about dose. Maybe in a few years if I really want to

I've dabbled with Datura. Datura metel to be specific.
I don't recommend it to anyone. It's very very difficult to turn those experiences into a good path to follow.

Just brugsmania when it used to grow in my yard. I read many reports before hand and somehow concluded that if I tried a tea with very little I could induce enjoyable threshold effects. I was only a little right. Like someone stated, it doesn't work every time prolly due to random levels of chemicals in every flower or leaf.
I mortar and pestled 2 leaves and 1 flower into a tea and had to effect.. However, I tried again the next night and within 20 minutes I was very tired, so I went to my bad. Maybe snoozed for a few minutes and all of a sudden got up feeling very mentally confused n stoned but my body and coordination was very drunk and slumped. I remember thinking "Damn this shit sucks I'm going back to sleep" in which I went back to my bed and started texting. Shit then got real weird.
I snapped into "real" reality and my hands we're just floating in front of me, texting on a phone that wasn't there. This really scared me, but I was instantly shot into another delusion in which I was talking to my mom in my kitchen... Came to again and I was just laying flat on my face, lips moving but not talking, and it was still just me. I don't remember anything after this and eventually just slept it off. It was mostly an unenjoyable, confusing, schizo like experience but interesting nonetheless. Honestly I would try again in a safe enviroment, but never more than what I made in that brew that day.

Ive done dph plenty of times. Shit gets weird as hell. Datura is extremely intruging to me. I would try itif i came across some. I believe you can get positives out of these experiences. I learned quite a bit about myself with the dph. No not the healthiest things to do, but everything interests me.

I have consumed PLENTY of Brugmansia, which is pretty much the same high.
I have consumed brug brew made from the flowers of the tree probably 10 times.

I've dabbled lightly when I was younger, but never really to the point of a fully entheogenic experience, just some visual distortion, weird feels, and like Fennario said, VERY bad cotton mouth. Never had any really bad experiences, but I was very slowly edging up my dosage.

LSD with Datura is a good way to experience the character of the plant without the pronounced risks of toxicity.

A couple times as a teen, with the seeds of Datura strammonium. Took nearly an entire pod like twice. It's every bit as nutty as the trip reports say, and just as dangerous. Got a catheter and drank charcoal when mom dukes found me babling after ~16 hours into the trip. Datura is a Hellavu drug

That's pretty wild Asante, I never felt anything even remotely sexual. One time I did see a dark figured woman in my periphery, I felt her power, and was too scared to look directly at her. Kinda had a similar experience with salvia once, where I clearly saw a woman, and felt immense power radiating from her. Anyone else see a witchly woman? haha Asante, you ever try mandrake? thought I saw that it can be ordered online, I'd love to see one, but have no interest in consuming deleriants anymore.

I've heard far too many stories about it to ever consider a full dose. Hell no.

I'll eat a few seeds here and there when I'm in the garden, or take a bite or two from a flower.
Datura Innoxia & Wrightii to be specific.
I've smoked it too, but as mentioned it didn't seem to do much...if anything at all.

the story line is pretty good, except for the ending where it gets werid.
alot of people don't like this movie, see it as too much hype, just because it's a movie about tripping.. i give it some credit
thier dmt sequence is pretty spot on for very light trips.

If you're a foreigner you won't die but their prison sentences are HARSH.
Singapore on the otherhand, you will DIE, absolutely.
Enter the Void is a visual masterpiece, it's very long, and it gets pretty fucked up, but I would say watch it. They do mention Datura and it definitely aligns with what people here are saying about it feeling very, very real.
Someone in this thread used the words 'darkly enticing'(too lazy to find it to quote) and that's exactly how I feel about it. I've read a lot of trip reports and experiences other people would have, but I really don't think I will be trying it in the near future, or even at all.
The idea of not knowing what's real and what's not is something that totally terrifies me, same with being out of control. No matter how out of it I am I tend to always have some hint of control over myself. I've made some dumb choices on alcohol, but nothing terribly embarrassing or anything that was a total fuck up. I've experienced ego death in safe environments(though the first time was locked in a bathroom at a big party, but the party was mostly outside and the homeowner was my best friend and we were locked in the bathroom together.

Same. I can't imagine myself getting to the point of no control or unable to distinguish reality and hallucinations.

Yes.I did when i was 17.I ended up in the hospital-ripped my i.v. out when i thought it was friday and wanted to go party with friends-they wanted me to drink lavage of charcoal.I wouldve;it would have coated my stomache and Iwouldnt have absorbed any more toxins from the plant. If I hadnt thought it was ipecac; which id had for something else.I got my mom to sign me out .got home ,climbed out the window and dont remember most of the next 2 weeks.in and out {mentaly-but the awareness is very fleeting..like not even 5 minutes more like less than a minute-for real, the rest is total amnesia.like the orig. qoute was saying.I kept trying to smoke ciggs i didnt have,id go to hit it ,then start looking in my lap etc. for the butt i thought i had and must have dropped.thought i was doing bongs with my friends etc.to realise they werent there and then id be gone again. Also kept trying to turn my 'new' stereo on etc.Youre smooth muscles all go relaxed. You cant regulate youre body temp-cant-sweat-spit-piss etc. all are fucked-you get overheated.Thats why people take there clothes off and have drowned in inches of water because they were thirsty/hot but in the 'out of it' phases[i turned red as a tomatoe.my eyes were fucked from being 'totally' dialated for over a week strght-no color-I looked like that crazy pic of manson. of Its the chemical they put in youre eyes at the eye doctor and then people wear those big glasses etc.its 1 of the chemicals there are many more but 3 main ones.anyway-the old ryhme for country doctors goes-red as a beet, mad as a hatter.hat makers went mad from mercury back then. It is not a psychedelic-that term is so wrongly used.It is a deleriant.lookup the account of Jamestown and what happend when they landed and made saladIts called devils balls, thorn apple etc.I learned of it from that faker carlos castenada's books; and thought id like to'see my spirit animal-and be able to fly like a raven etc. Also i mistook the dose which high times had an article on.I ate 10 wet grams of seeds-i think the dose was .01 and was misprinted? as 10.very nasty bitter..The plants I found being as tall as me. (from a cultivated strawberry/pumpkin farm)-the plants normally are knee/high to waist high. The pods about ping pong ball sized-'mine' were peach/plum sized-very potent. In a bad way.It is a 'dark' spirited plant. The bizarreness of dreams on benadryl etc. comes to mind-I wanted to get a little[this is by no-means all that happend to me] of this storey out so people dont get the wrong idea about this plant-NOT RECREATIONAL-and most tribes say it will make you mad.that even to sleep under one.{I have expierience with Brugmansia etc.angel trumpet trees(lived in FL.) AS WELL AS STRAMONIUM,METELOIDS,INOXIA? They vary in chem comp.etc. but not worth it. I knew 1 supposed 'wiccan'/witch who used drops in her eyes and also liked to slip it onto salad and feed it to people, and say it was bitter bcuz of the sprouts. She did it to me(bcuz i trimmed a branch that was growing into the florida room roof.she said i had hurt the elves/tree spirits etc.I said no ,it would be like a haircut. But she was 'nuts' 4real anyway.she evidentally did it in washington state to,too some dead heads.watch out for a crazy b**** named Rhiannon,if you live in the fl.keys,peace.........Ive been trying to get this to look right for 40 minutes,i dont have the time anymore

I grew up on a farm in south east oh, that shit jimsoms weed we call it makes you mad as hatter. We used to chew the seeds while running hay or what have you. And just a pinch would do it but you would begin to exhibit signs of madness. I remember having whole conversations with folks I swore were right beside me. The hallucinations are so real you cant tell them from reality which could make it a very dangerous drug. At low low doses it was fun because it was wierd and passed the time. I would not recommend this as a rec drug. Higher doses can lead to medical problems. Also Castenada was a fraud wasnt he? Code:
