Now that mention it, I could have sworn I heard him whisper those words to one of his dogs.

Just for the record, there was absolutely no flame in my edited post. There was no swearing, no name calling of any kind.

Maybe not flaming, but you are in some way baiting him, especially by acting like what he did was an atrocity while disregarding how things you do in your life contribute to the downfall of the entire planet. It's easier to cover our eyes to what goes into the making of the things we take for granted but just because your hands aren't directly involved doesn't mean you don't contribute to it.
Can't tell if you're intentionally trying to get a rise out of him or whether you truly care about beavers, but it was entertaining either way.

I guess I don't care specifically about beavers, no, but I am sickened by the idea of a grown man torturing an animal, any animal, for his own amusement.

I agree with that, but at the same time that means I have to hate everyone who has ever been to a zoo, because even that is borderline torture and inhumane solely for entertainment, or anyone that goes hunting since food is in abundance everywhere already, and anyone who litters as that kills more wildlife than anything and even if it's not for entertainment, it shows a lack of care for life solely because it was more convenient for the person at the time. The amount of things that happen to animals solely for entertainment/convenience is already too abundant to get hung up on one specific person doing it.
Even though as I said in an earlier comment his overly defensive stance on the subject did seem suspect and made him a target to troll so I guess it was to be expected for people to jump on his shit over it.

The American farming industry is pretty inhumane as well.
Basically, unless you're eating shit from your own garden, live away from most society, use technology from the 1500s, and don't breed, you're probably killing, displacing, and wasting many things. Which isn't to say don't minimize... I just wanted to degrade this "topic" further.

People who litter should be dragged out back and shot, they are the scum of the earth. This $1000 fine bullshit obviously isn't doing the trick.
I agree zoos are pretty fucked up too, last time I went to one I literally felt sick to my stomach.

I'm not saying what you said didn't get said by Zombi3, but I have a hard time believing that somebody would risk the life of their dog to try and fuck up a beaver. A beaver is a vicious animal, and you'd have to have a pit bull at least to even think of sicking a dog on one. And how in the hell would he even manage to break up a beaver dam, those things are solid.

Hunting dogs can kill and fetch small ones.
Still though, they make for good money and people buy them for all sorts of reasons. Sled dog owners will empty wallets if it's been a bad trapping season.

we need to find a way to harness the power of beavers, imagine every chainsaw replaced with a beaver, if only there was a way..........ive got it, we rub peanut butter on the tree's we want cut down and then catch/release beavers near the tree's, sit back enjoy a beer while the beavers do all the work. then once they are done we tell them to get back in the kitchen and cook us some dam dinner already

sucks how the animals are all locked up n shit, but.. if zoos didnt exist most people would probably never get a chance to witness these majestic creatures. im sure the peeps who work with them are animal lovers, they gotta be..

In a way it isn't the same because factory farm meat in some way is at least for us to survive, could probably be done in a much more humane way but it isn't solely for entertainment or enjoyment. But people as a whole create the demand that causes the mistreatment of animals for entertainment or convenience that we all in some way contribute to, and if not that than something else, it's basically inherent in human nature, which is why we like pointing fingers so we can pretend other people are worse then us, or people don't even realize how they're contributing

I feel like it's more humane to kill an animal for shits and giggles than it is to torture it for it's entire life, regardless of the motivation.
That said, I eat factory farmed meat, I'm just saying let's not any of us set ourselves on some kind of pedestal.
