Update of sorts: are these mushrooms safe to eat?

Hey guys, I made this post a few days ago and have since gotten rid of some cakes. See here:http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22056239
I didn't get rid of all the cakes, however. One or two of them, I just plucked off the moldy verm since the rest of the cake looked okay. Its been a few days later, and the cake looks like this: http://imgur.com/1ZHxK1p
My question is: This cake does have some mold but there is no green stuff on those mushrooms. Are they safe to eat?
Also, if they are safe to eat, can I just keep cutting out the mold so that they grow bigger?
Thanks in advance, Drunkdude

I would not eat shrooms off a moldy cake. Life is too short!

I'd rather wait for some nice healthy shrooms to munch on, it just makes me feel more comfortable during the trip knowing that they are completely harmless. Other cultivators have said that eating shrooms off a contaminated substrate is OK, but I still feel like it's taking a risk, i mean, do you really want to be eating mold spores that may have landed on the fruits. I don't think so.

Would it make you more comfortable if I told you it's common practice for commercial farms to harvest and sell mushrooms grown on contaminated substrate?

But.. but.. mold spores are everywhere? You have a very high chance of having more than 80% of mold spores touch your fruits during the drying process. Also in the wild how many cow piles that have cubes on them do you think have no other molds growing with them? I'd say 0. Most of the time I just ask myself, if I found this in the wild would I eat it? If it's yes, then down the hatch

Trich(green mold) shouldn't hurt you. But do some research. I currently have shitakes that have trich and I was instructed by provider that they will still be edible. Take with grain of salt
