Third time grow
    #22076654 - 08/11/15 02:20 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

I grew over a decade ago and just recently decided to take it up again.

My first run was a disaster. I tried a flaxseed experiment. Only 1 out 10 made it. 3 ended up watery and destroyed the mycelium (don't know why).

Switched back to BRF

Using 3 different sizes to off set birthing times.

1/4 pints
Pints
Pint and a halfs

Lost 4 Pint and a halfs to contamination

Just birthed 2 1/4 pints and dunked and rolled.

4 more quarter pints should birth within the next few days to a week

Did what, grew a few boomers in shitty conditions? No that doesn't surprise me at all. We see people do that here everyday. Wanna know what we don't see everyday? People pull off 175% BE first flush by growing solid genetics in excellent conditions. Well I see it most days but I can't be bothered to take that many pics

Shitty conditions = Shitty results

Excellent conditions = Excellent results

The choice is yours. . .

I'm suggesting you build a proper fruiting chamber for the substrate you intend to fruit. Monotubs are typically for bulk and cakes do not produce enough heat or hold enough moisture for them to function properly, unless you pack it really full of cakes and bottom water them in the jar or stack them. A SGFC would do you much better really.

In the future can I just rest the cakes on the perlite or do I need a separation medium like aluminum foil or a lid?

So far I have 13 jars of different sizes innococulated and 2 jars ready to be birthed.

My question is if I leave them in an extra 7 days then birth them will they pin faster?
