SGFC Take Two

I screwed up the first fruiting chamber I made and my brf cakes may have paid the price. I made a second chamber with 1/4" holes. My cave in the desert is dry as grandma's crack. I've got 3" clearance from the wall, the best I can manage. Does this look okay now? I asked in another thread, can SGFCs be dialed in?

I have three cakes that show no sign of pins. Only one has a fruit that's maturing. One cake has a small one and a pin. That's it. Are these cakes going to be okay now, or should I prepare myself for a day of mourning before I move on?

This is the big one. This is with natural light, so I'm sure I've got that right. There is a slight blush of blue at the bottom which is not as easy to see in the pic. Is this the way it's supposed to look?

And don't all babies need comfort?

Thanks for the help.

the mushroom looks fine as far as dialing in a SGFC I've never had one so you'll have to wait for the experts in the meantime get some more cakes going and fill your new fruiting chamber up!!

You don't dial a sgfc in you just follow directions. You can't adjust FAE it already gets more than enough

looks good ajahn! I'd move the sgfc away from the walls, allow it some elbow space to do its thing!

Remember that the more you restrict the airflow around the SGFC the less the perlite is able to humidify the chamber. 3" is damn tight.

I gave it a bit more room, but that's at a premium since the wife and I live in a one bedroom cave. Space is dear, and she's a dear for giving me the room I've got, which is her dining area. Another inch or two might spell the difference?
Drilling the holes correctly seems to have been a great improvement.
My first baby. 24 grams wet.
Unfortunately the Presto Dehydrator I got from Wally doesn't work. The green light came on once, then no more. Bummer.

It should be fine. There are degrees of optimal and if your seeing healthy fruits that is the main thing. BTW thats a nice looking fruit ya got there. Yummy.
Also just return the dehydrator and get another. I usually return em once I burn em out anyway.

Thanks, guys. Now it seems to be kicking off quite nicely. Lots of pins now. That shroom seems like a good one. 24g. Is that a lot?
Rather than create a new thread for little reason, I'm adding this here. I put in a picture window in my SAB. It's a little ghetto, but it works. I was having real trouble seeing through the opaque tub, so I took a 5x7 picture frame and siliconed it in. I put the frame around it this morning. The wife said, "That adds nothing, you know." Yes, true, but it looks better.

Now, I can see the details. Helpful when you're not old enough to remember when they invented dirt, but old enough to have seen them come up with mud.

The above quote is something you will soon understand the truth behind. Dehydrators don't last very long in the shroom world, if you're doing it right. I had a friend who kept changing out the heating element every time his went down. I just bought one from WalMart and kept taking it back when it stopped working. 3 years and (maybe) 6 or 7 store returns later, I have yet to pay twice for my food dehydrator. They won't give you your money back, but they'll happily swap it for a new one or give you store credit.
