Beutiful Cortinarius with deep orange gills and hint of green
    #22074633 - 08/11/15 01:44 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

I thought that this Cortinarius is easy meat, but I cannot identify with any good confidence. Maybe I have seen old half-rottening specimens, but they had a characteristic vivid orange gills (which turned greenish in old specimens), a pale amber-hat with greenish hues at the rim, stem cortinarius-like, streaky pale orange-brown with green colour in cracks. When cut cross-sectionally, there was a thin orange ring just 1mm away from the circumference. Found under pine tree. Young specimen greyish-beige in colour.

On my bookc, C. anthracinus looks right, but on the web images are well off.

The one on the left is a Cortinarius, but the two specimens on the right are Lactarius in the L. deliciosus group of species.

Yes you are right! Laccarius deliciosus - I've seen no milk and then there was the cf Cortinarius next to them so I was searching for hours vainlessly as "Cortinarius orange gills" until I was revising my Laccarius and saw it. I came to report here!
