Spikey mycelium at bases of mushrooms?
    #22072839 - 08/10/15 05:56 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Okay ive seen this a few times, what causes 'spikey' mycelium?

Im sure alot of you guys have seen this. Is 'spikey' the same as 'aireal mycelium'? Or is it different?

Do I need to fan more?

Usually it's genetics.  My Argentinian strain of cubensis had very, very fuzzy feet, and incredible aeriel mycelium!

Spikey myc at the bottom of mushies is too much moisture not enough FAE.

fanning doesn't' replace fae, fae is constant and passive or at least should be but wouldn't' fix fuzzy feet

Block of Horse Shit/Straw in a Minitub. 4 Holes covered with Micropore tape.

I should note, only a small percentage of all of the fruits have spikey bases. (but during previous grows I have had nearly all fruits with spikey bases)

I dont need a pic, some people must have seen this. It is unmistakable to explain by simply 'spikey mycelium'

Not hairy though, its perpindicular and vertical from the very base of the mushroom and its white mycelial spikes. (not brown hair like in your pic)

Too much humidity?

The brown is just spores, it was pure white before they dropped.

What you describe as spikey mycelium can also be a type of bacteria.

But as you say I'm sure it's all sorted, have a good one
