Cortinarius armillatus
    #22071850 - 08/10/15 01:47 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Sorry for posting so much, at least the forum will be adorned with fungi specimens from West North Finland. After some research, I have identified this nice and interesting species as Cortinarius alborufescens (listed in my Finnish book).

Question - Is Cortinarius the only genus which forms a webby or net-like covering below the cap in young specimens??? I know that's a sign for Cortinarius so wished to know if there are other genera (or exceptions) that have such characteristic?

There are other species which exhibit this trait, for example:

Lacrymaria lacrymabunda

Psilocybe semilanceata

and Psilocybe caerulescens, although I can't find a picture to prove that currently.

(Pics are not mine, came up in GIS)

Thanks DrGhosty.... I should keep that in mind, and hopefully i can consider these as a bunch of exceptions. In the meantime,  I have found and even changing (-ed) my mind over Cortinarius armillatus as shown here:
http://www.actafungorum.org/actaforum/viewtopic.php?t=4872

Still could be Cortinarius alborufescens but this seems to have a paler hat.
