In search of blue foot (p. caerulipes)

After many unsuccessful trips to the forest and spending hours hunched over a matrix of leaves, logs and twigs I think I finally found P. Caerulipes. I knew Caerulipes was partial to beech wood and I would crouch down between the trees and then begin sorting through all the other LBMs (there were many). The bugs were something else as I was usually near a swamp, the mosquitoes and black flies would be waiting to ambush me as I crashed through the undergrowth. This was in a mixed decidous forest in the north east of Ontario near Quebec.
I found my first specimen on a haft rotten branch. The blue base of the stem and the familiar psilocybe smell distinguished it from the other mushrooms I had been finding. I was pretty excited and rushed back to the car to get more bug spray so I could continue my search. On the path I came across a little cluster of Caerulipes (which I missed walking in) It was strange because these were growing out of pine needles and woody debris in the middle of a walking path in a monoculture pine plantation. I even found one growing out of a pine cone. I wasnt aware that they could grow in this habitat, aside from this one group I found no other sign of them in the pine forest.

I would love to pick some and then eat them where I found them just to feel more in tune with nature and whatnot.

I spent last season looking around Toronto area and never found a trace of them. Seems like that region is quite a bit drier than eastern parts of the province (not saying they cant be found there) Quebec has even wetter areas as can be seen from monthly precipitation charts that go by region. Psilocybe quebecensis is next on my list.
anyways here is another couple shots of the troop that was growing out of the pine straw.

Went back and found a few more in a different location in the pine forest. They are very hard to see as they blend in with the color of the pine straw and are quite small. I took a shot of the forest as well, I think it is white pine but im not sure, it's creepy as hell in there as the sun starts going down.

love those thick, dark pine forests for their creep factor. you'll poke an eye out walking in there after dark if you don't have a headlamp, though.
a B&W pic of that pine stand would be a trippy good pic.
