Lepiota, but...
    #22070529 - 08/10/15 05:26 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Hi, maybe someone have suggestions on this nice species. First guesses run in the genus Lepiotia. The hat is bulky hemi-spherical, white with pale-brown scales. The foot also have patterns of down-facing scales. The hat is 5cm broad and was growing close (if not on) a trunck of unknown tree in sandy area.  The gills are white and had the interesting feature of being notched hence with an uneven edge. Currently making spore print. The problem is that it completely lacks a ring. A match would be L. cristata, but this seams to be a smaller muchroom (1-4cm). ; the foot of this species is only 5mm, whereas my specimen had a much thicker foot, and the habitat did not match either.

Having no ring and short stipe,  I was wondering if I should check other genera.

Many thanks. Looks different in my books but it is that one, a young specimen which have not rolled up and became inflated. The name (train wrecker!) and its notorious behaviour is interesting!
