Oyster spore fever already?

I've been using a dual cartridge respirator since day one, but the symptoms I've been experiencing are suspect. I woke up Friday with a really sore throat. It was a bit worse Saturday, with a wet cough added. Today it felt better, but my throat is really itchy and I've been dry coughing like mad. Nose has been a little runny too. I'm suspicious because I stepped into my FC for the first time in a while on Thursday. My presence was overdue, but I had been so busy. There were two or three logs in there on their second flush with shriveled up yellow oysters, so they must have dropped all their spores. Threw them all out. Interestingly, one of the new logs was completely laden in spores. The poly tubing was covered in a layer of them that my fingers picked up right away. There was definitely a high spore load going on there because outside I looked at my exhaust fan and there was a ton of spore build-up on the grass beside the duct work. That stuff traveled over 20 feet! I had never had that happen before. That's what I get for waiting so long. Just reading all this is making me feel sicker. Thankfully no fever though.
I can't entirely attribute it to the mushrooms yet though, because Thursday night I spent several hours screaming my lungs off, and half expected to wake up with the sore throat. And I also was much less germ conscious that night then I usually am.

If you've been using a respirator as you say, I wouldnt worry too much about the spores. There are some people who are much more sensitive to spores though, so I wouldnt rule it out, especially if you have allergies that are seasonal etc....

yeah it could happen if you already have allergies. i came down with a fever last tuesday when I got home from a little vacation to 200 shiitake blocks ready to harvest. the air was thick with spores. couldn't see one end of my grow room from the other! just having facial hair break the seal of my mask was enough to send me into a coughing fit with fever later that night.
