first monotub/ Updated for fruiting pics
    #22069739 - 08/09/15 09:56 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

started from a ms syringe made from a print of a large cube from a hunt, nocced up 6 quart jars ~3/4 full of rinsed simmered wbs pcd at 15 psi for 90 mins

this is one of the jars the day after being shook. That blue dot is the rtv i used that somehow got on this inside of the jar and dried, no harm was seen.

But anyways here is my monotub as of now it has 6 2 in holes drilled ~3.5 in above bottom, and the two top holes under the handles, the tubs have been colonizing at 78-79 F for 4 days now and it appears to be almost fully colonized. The whole top of the sub is covered in thick white myc with thinner almost grey myc spreading from the thick white myc knot lookin things, everything looks good to me, idk if that much condensation should be on the double saran wraped lid (gorilla tape securing it to both sides of the lid)

as you can see its pretty much all covered, i already know it needs a few more days before put into FC
And yes i know these pictures are super shitty but its the best i can do going through two layers of saran wrapped covered in condensation and in bad lighting :D But the thinner whitish grey mycelium doesn't look like cobweb to me, its looks like myc growth, not granular, or cobwebby, also if it was cobweb i feel like id be able to tell by now:D also, that yellowish spot isn't actually  yellow spot, idk what happened there but i think its just bad lighting and the result of a shitty picture

a few jars 4 days before i spawned them.

i found this amusing

I will for sure update with better pictures once i put it into FC, i dont feel safe cracking the lid for a better pic right now. But i really am kind of surprised with this tubs colonization speed with what i think is a 1:1 ratio, 6 "quarts" of wbs a brick of coir 2 quarts of verm and a cup of gypsum. I hope all is well with my first grow, but for rebound sake i went and bought a 66 qt sterlite.

-------------------------------------UPDATE---------------------------------

well here is my tub 9 days after spawning, i introduced fruting conditions two days ago, i put loose polyfill in the top 2" holes and i guess medium to tightly packed in the bottom four 2" holes. The surface was 99% colonized imo due to the tiny 1cm spot that doesn't seem to be colonized :tongue2: Other than that the tub smells like mushrooms, i dont see any myc piss, and nothin but white myc, atleast i hope. these pictures were taken as soon as i took the lid off to observe and begin introducing FC. 8/11

And what causes the myc puffs to elongate and reach for the lid. unlike the other dense white myc puffs thats are round some are going up, theyre all white though.

It looks to me like it might be gulf coast, but i really have no idea, im only making the assumption due to the fact that the mushroom was picked in south west florida in a cow pasture.
if not this exact guy, it was a nice one very similar.

thankyou, how much longer do you recommend? i think i see some knots forming, tiny white dots, but there is for sure tiny patches of coir, cm in size, not colonized yet.

quick question while youre here, does the potency in wild and grown mushrooms vary? ive lemon tekd 6, 7, and 8 g of the kind in the pic, no visuals, just very stimulated

I can already assume that these will be a lot stronger, at leats i hope, i just hope that the tub lives to see a first flush
