Cost of a vacation to Scandinavia if I live in the USA?

I absolutely love Norway, and have always dreamed of going there one day. Only thing is I have no clue how much to save up before I go. If I travel coach on a cheap airline, and stay in a relatively nice hotel, say a hampton inn or something (if they have those there) and stay there for about a week and a half, how much could you see me spending? $5000? ten? fifteen?
At the ripe age of 18 I've still got a while to go before I have enough money for such a vacation, but I'm eager as fuck to travel to Norway!
Any of you guys ever gone to Scandinavia? was it costly? thanks all

thats wierd you should go sooner than later lol kayak a flight pick up some jokes, i mean jobs and then do it just go there maybe you could pick one thing that you would do in norway and that would keep the cost cheap and adventure premo.

Costs in Norway: Hostel or Airbnb or staying in nature huts (fuck hotels you never meet anyone, if you are young hostels are great. Tons of hiking trails have manned nice huts.) 50 or 60 dollars a night Travel 10 dollars a day Food 30 to 100 dollars a day depending Drinking/drugs: expensive if drinking out, 12 dollars a drink, at home 2 dollars a beer Flights are 500 or 600 round trip from NYC, more if you have to fly to NYC
So Norway is maybe 150 dollars a day. 3000 for 2 weeks. Its a very expensive country and you might consider other countries while travelling. Sweden where I live is slightly cheaper but not so much. I'm in the Balkans, in Serbia travelling and getting by on $20 a day, in morocco was about the same, Southeast Asia similar so there are many cheaper places to go if you are severely under budgeted, do some travelling while young and have the time because its much harder as you get older. All you need is to book that first flight and first hostel night. For me my dream was always new zealand so even though it was expensive I still went there and did some work mixed with travel for 8 months so I understand your desire to see Norway. Lycka till!

I've heard Serbia is beautiful, and if its cheap it might be a good place to visit. Not much of historic landmarks or famous cities like france, Germany and so on. I would avoid Egypt or most of the middle east, I know the thread is about Scandinavia but we can talk.
