Fert question.

I have stopped fertilizing my tomatoes, the leaves are turning yellow which is expected, but is it best to just let the plant eat itself while the fruits mature? The tomatoes are starting to ripen, I am thinking this should be like a cannabis grow where you leech the soil so that the nutrients in the plant go to fruit production, is this smart to do for tomatoes? Will it make sweeter fruits since there will be minimal amounts of ferts in the end product?
I use fox farms nutes for all my growing, love the stuff.

Hes obviously growing tomatos. If it was cannabis, and he was trying to be discrete, then he probably wouldnt mention cannabis.

Determinate or indeterminate tomatoes?
Determinate, a bit of senescence is probably to be expected.
Indeterminate, is more like a continuously growing/fruiting vine and shouldn't be showing signs of yellowing yet, assuming you aren't in northern Canada or somewhere similar.
Are you growing in containers?
Bottled nutes are a waste of money. Grow organic and you won't have to worry about this micro-management of a natural process.

Yes I am growing in containers, I used fox farms ocean forest soil, and fox farms nutes, both are organic. It's much easier growing in the ground, but I do not have a place to do so now, so am using containers.

Personally I try and keep mine as happy as possible until the plant dies back on its own. A lack of calcium will lead to blossom end rot on your fruit, too. Tomatoes are not like cannabis, you're not going to smoke them. The sugars that partly make tomatoes delicious are created through photosynthesis. You won't have photosynthesis with yellow leaves.

I think he means more along the lines of living soil. You can buy pre mixed soil online if you cannot mix/cook your own, then you do not need any nutes as the microbes take care of all the work.

Organic or not, you are paying a lot of money for nothing more than water. If that's good for you, it's good for me. But usually when one uses the right amendments, these kinds of problems are averted. It's a lot cheaper, and better for the soil, to buy bulk amendments and feed the soil with those as opposed to bottled. You can even make your own teas, ferments, and liquids with most bulk amendments, if you like watering them in or need a quick fix.

Well I hit em with a low dose, didn't do to much so I figured I would just let them be since the fruits are maturing nicely.

Here are some Nicotiana tabacum, these have white flowers. I have been growing the same tobacco for the last few years, I want to branch out and buy some Nicotiana rustica.
