I think some of them have real merit in some ways but in an overall and literal sense, it's all garbage.

there should be a "I believe that it is possible" option.

Karma is true, and technically isn't even pseudoscience. First off, doing something bad will probably leave you feeling guilty, while doing something good will make you feel better. Also whoever you're doing anything to and those around will notice if you do good or bad things, and will treat you differently accordingly.

Because of that, doing good things will positively affect your future, and doing shitty things will negatively affect your future. It isn't any crazy spiritual/pseudoscience thing though.

Naw I have argued in defense of some of them in the past but in researching them to better make my points I always just uncovered more shit that makes it all seem like a scam.  If there was any worth to them people lost touch with that long ago and what we have left is a cartoonish representation of primitive ideologies.

I think karma as a whole is true.

If you treat someone kindly/help them out, they, in turn, may help someone else and so on.

Does it affect you directly? Perhaps. By being nice you meet other nice people who in turn help you.

I dont think that it affects you in the way that some people think

That isn't karma, that is cause-and-effect.

Karma is when you die all of your lifes actions are weighed against you and it determines the kind of life you have in your next incarnation.  I personally don't buy the concept of karma, as it doesn't create a possibility to escape it.

One will always acquire bad karma in their lifetime, thus forcing them to reincarnate forever.  It is impossible to go through life without bringing some sort of pain or suffering to another life form.  You eat plants, it is a life form and you take its life to do so.  You kill a bug, whoops you're back here!  And for 122 life times (or some non-sense these "Gurus" spout).  Therefor, escaping reincarnation is impossible through "working off bad karma and doing dharma."

As well, if someone is a murderer in this life and is forced to live a life of suffering in the next- who is going to bring the suffering on that person?  Other people?  Then the person who brought suffering on the past-life murderer is forced to acquire bad karma, perpetuating the cycle forever.  It is a trap.

You believe in Karma but what about all the people who bring nothing but misery and suffering to this world and enjoy a lavish life of luxury?

I don't believe in the classical definition of karma, to wit: some universal force that rights all wrongs. But I do believe there is a kind of social karma. If you go around being an asshole to people, they're going to respond in like manner.

I believe that pseudosciences exist in great abundance. Not sure that things like karma and tarot really qualify though, from what I've seen they aren't generally presented as being scientific.

Yeah, that is why I said I didn't believe it in the spiritual context

Those rich people are only rich in money, nothing else. Most people end up hating them and those who don't really do and only like them for their money. They also probably feel guilty as fuck about it too, so they aren't rich at all and their lives suck.

Esp has been proven though its not reliable. The rhine experiments at duke university earlier in the last century showed that plus many people have experienced things. Astrology has some validity though modern science is hell bent on ignoring it.

I believe in what is observable, proven, and reliable.  I've seen little evidence of this applying to any of the above.

I read tarot cards every day.
They contain archetypes of life that most people encounter, so the images are somewhat universal for everyone.
To take the true message of the tarot is to really just reflect inward on what the images mean to you, now.  They're a mirror of yourself and your situation.
For example you'd ask the tarot cards, "What do I need to know about situation X" and throw down a spread, which will give you new perspective on  the question based on the way you interpret the cards as they land.  So it gives you a new way of looking at something.
It's not some gypsy fortune telling tool.  That's from Hollywood movies.  Other forms of cartmancy like Lenormand and other Oracle cards are future-predicting gypsy style fortune telling cards.

I think Karma happens to an extent. But the problem with calling them pseudo-sciences is, when you apply the scientific method to any of them, they all break down. So, I wouldn't even call them pseudo-science. They are just beliefs.

If you like the idea of astrology and tarot cards you should check out MBTI personality type.  It's like astrology, but with actual science, so it's more realistic.  I've learned a lot about myself and others based on it, and it doesn't sound dumb when bringing it up with rational types. since it's not a pseudoscience.

I think Karma happens to an extent. But the problem with calling them pseudo-sciences is, when you apply the scientific method to any of them, they all break down. So, I wouldn't even call them pseudo-science. They are just beliefs.

Karma is real to the extent that people are often treated the way they treat others, but certainly there is no cosmic, supernatural or divine justice.

Do you believe in at least on of the things I listed?

I believe in all of these things. I use tarot to get perspective on current situations in my life, especially if I haven't been able to really parse together what I'm supposed to be doing to alleviate a potential conflict. I used to perform readings professionally but the pressure became too much. There were clients who would contact me 2 times or more per week for 30+ minute sessions. I charged $4.99 a minute and became concerned for their finances and mental well being. In the end, I didn't like having that kind of sway over someone and now only do readings for friends. Gratis.

I see tarot, actual astrology (not the watered down sun-sign based horoscope nonsense one finds in Cosmo or the newspaper), and other divinatory tools to be just that; tools.

I have considered visiting an Ayurvedic practitioner for a consultation as I'd like a more specialized, preemptive, mode of healthcare to go along with the doctor I currently see.

What is that saying? There are many things in heaven and on earth...? These practices and belief systems just happen to be among those many things.

That isn't what Karma is though. Karma is something you accumulate for your next life. So if you spend you life kicking beavers your next life will be as a dung beetle. Do good things all your life in the next life you will be rich and live in a good country. People in India see a one legged beggar and feel they can ignore him and say it's his fault for being a scumbag in the last life.
I don't believe in any of the above topics, but am interested in them.
