Trazadone makes my body fall asleep but not my head, so the only thing I can do is force myself to fall asleep. Mind as well meditate yourself to sleep. Or ^^ try some kratom. Certain species have worked GREAT to help me sleep and has given me very eye opening dreams.

I agree
The only major drugs I use on a daily basis are weed nicotine and caffeine
I can understand if you're chemically imbalanced and need these pharma drugs to feel normal but I don't consider it a solution as much as I consider it a crutch
These drugs aren't helping you solve your mental problems they're just helping you cope with them
That's great, congratulations
Unfortunately, all our brains differ, and if I'm not on a carefully balanced medication routine I get manic and psychosis kicks in. It's hard to differentiate what is the bipolar and what is ptsd in that instance, because there are very specific triggers that usually send me into that psychosis and I start panicking.
I consider that as much of health problem as I do my autoimmune disease, which is potentially deadly/capable of sending you into a coma if left untreated long enough. It fucks up my life if I'm not medicated with that, a mood stabilizer(bipolar) and an antidepressant that's not an ssri(ptsd is treated with anti-depressants).
It's great that you live with the fallacy of assuming everyone is just like you, and that it's okay to stigmatize mental illness that legitimately fucks up someone's life, and could potentially make them suicidal. Personally though, I'm really fucking sick of people who haven't gone through anything like the shit I have telling me to go off my meds. It's dangerous, patronizing, and frankly an uneducated intrusion into someone else's life - not saying you are, but I'm fucking sick of this attitude.
Also, coping skills are a major step towards recovery/remission, learning to cope ultimately leads(ideally) to learning how to live with better habits, and patterns, and learning how to shut down any potential triggers or red flags. The first and foremost thing you have to do if you want to get better, is learn how to cope - this is the basic thing that cognitive behavioral therapy starts with, which in and of itself does not include meds. Some people need tools to dig themselves out of a hole that's shut down their ability to function, and ideally it'll work in a symbiotic way with the CBT.
