Hey all, I was having a stroll in one of the horse paddocks on my farm and came across these growing from horse manure/grassy tuft. I think they're Panaeolus cinctulus but I'm not overly confident with identifying this species yet. Any help from people who are would be great
SO,
Location: Victoria Australia Habitat: Horse manure/grass Stem: Long and thin, lines down the length of them Cap: Small and convex, light and dark brown with zonate rings Gills: Dark brown mottled with black Spore print: Printing now, but suspected black due to spore deposit on grass around them Bruising: None noticed Pictures:

It is Panaeolus cinctulus, or a close relative like P. fimicola.
Check microscopic features & DNA sequences.

Thanks for the extremely quick response! Although, I unfortunately don't have access to DNA sequencing, so I'll take your word for it that they're cincts

You do have access - all you have to do is mail some dried material to the people at http://alvalab.es. Costs like $20.
I can help you analyze the data you get back.

Wow, thats pretty cool! I'll look into it. I'm actually studying DNA sequencing at university at the moment, so I should be able to analyse the results myself in the not so distant future.
