Wales Vs. Peak District Vs. Lake District?
    #22059203 - 08/07/15 03:25 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Hello..

Soo, I found a lot of shrooms last season thanks to reading people's advice on the forums.
I didn't have to go far. Was around 330m above sea level.
This season I'm wanting to go out for the day and have a good treck round either the lakes, Peak District or Wales? I don't live far from any of these places, all are within an hours drive or so, maybe a lil more for Wales. Which do you guys think would be the best place, and why?

Any of you know which place averages the highest altitude?
Does the altitude play a big part on how many libs are around?
(I presume this as where I went last year, I struggled to find libs until I hit the very peak at 330m above sea level.)
Thanks

330m is perfect.

I hunt at 320-350m and i've found 200 already (10 then 20 then found 170 yesterday).

This is in Greater Manchester.

The only reason the peaks are good is cause of how much habitat there is but realistically you can only cover so much area in a day.

Follow the sheep, certain types of grass, when you hunt more n more you just know where they're gonna fruit, the habitats become second nature.

So to answer your question, none, everywhere has equal fruiting opportunity if the conditions are right, i'm fruiting at the same time as Wales as is some of my contacts in the North East.

I always find libs wherever i live, prolific numbers too.

With each containing one of the following:
Cyanide... Psilocin... Would you take the risk?
Didn't think so.

Thanks blazey. I'm probably gonna go Peak District. Just want to change up the scenery and go somewhere else. Will deffo still go to my local spot a few times too though.
I recognise your name from last year. and seen you post in the official 2015 thread saying you've been up and found a few. Pretty confident we share the same hunting place.. Me and my friend were joking with each other after seeing a few of your pics last year. We were struggling to find any on one particular day, after having many successful walks. My friend was sayin "bet blazey fuckin took em all" haha.

Thanks for the advice, and have fun with your 200 libs

That sounds cool. I'd definitely be up for that.  And we're always smoking whilst hunting, mixes well!
(Unless ya over do it and chill on a hill instead, observing  the view..)
