Since you go to Echostage and are part of the DC club scene in a way you are likely one as well. Let's be real dude Echostage is full of Custies. There is like nobody there who is not

I looked it up on urban dictionary and it had lots of definitions. I just know it's derogatory and probably pretty hypocritical. Bassfreak was never any good at defining words. Here's something close to what I think he meant by it:
custie A poser. Someone who goes to a "jamband" show yet doesn't know anything about the band, goes to the show because its deemed cool, has subwoofers that play 50 Cent all day in their SUV, wears the stereotypical hippy clothing, and makes fun of people who talk about 'positive vibes' and 'positive energy.' This describes, in essence, 95% of all Widespread Panic fans and also would be appropriate terminology for 80% of the crowds at Phish shows from 1999 and on.
EDIT: Maybe this one is better:
Custie A Slang Term for a person who attends jamband shows. These people are the bane of the "Scene" and bring nothing positive.
I think it also has something to do with being a chump who pays money when he should be cool enough not to.

I think it means people who are easy prey for unscrupulous drug dealers.

I saw that one too, but bassfreak used it in all kind of ways. Maybe that's what he meant though. He was a snob about not taking RCs and only taking pure MDMA (which is the wiser option in his defense).

I think there's some overlap between all the definitions because anybody who listens to that kind of music is probably naive enough to pay ridiculously high prices for lab-rat drugs that are misidentified.

If anyone hasn't noticed custie is short for customer. Someone who pays for an experience without any more meaningful and in depth attachment or understanding of said experience.
That's the closest general definition I've seen, like someone who will follow any band as long as there are good parties and drugs that come with it.

People are hating on bassnectar now because it's hip to hate on him. also, his fanbase gets shit on because many of the ones portrayed aren't really mindful individuals and have been reported to be assholes at many venues.
He's arguably one of the top EDM artists out there today, and there's no denying that. However with that kind of following there are bound to be several bad peaches in the bunch.
His music really isn't bad at all, but again i think the people that are saying bassnectar sucks haven't really listened to some of his better tracks and I'm wagering that EDM just isn't their style to begin with.

To be honest, I used to make fun of Bassnectar just to irritate the freak. I'd never actually heard anything of his. Recently I gave him a chance, and it sucked worse than I thought.

also, a lot of the time... if you don't have a subwoofer or something better than a po-dunk laptop... any music with any types of lows is going to sound pretty bad and bland. there's a ton of different textures and pitches with the bass that runs through his tracks and adds a lot of depth to the songs.
i can listen to his remix of When I Grow Up in the car, but not on the laptop. conversely, I can listen to Baby Robot by OTT just fine on my laptop.

That wasn't awful but I wouldn't really seek it out. For what it's worth my laptop speakers have zero ability to produce bass though.

It's unique and cool when you're spun. I can't listen to it on a regular basis though. Edm culture kind of ruins his music for me

That was good. I guess it sounds better when Bassfreak isn't the one making the suggestion.
