brf casing questions

Ok, now I have a pretty good idea what I am doing but I would definitely love some reassurance :-)So I had a quart jar that was not wide mouth and I proceeded to knock it up with B+ spores.
I knew that I was going to run into problems if it fully colonized, and of course, it did like a champ! So my question is more of just About my technique, I sterilize Casing Mix (50/50 vermiculite and coconut coir), pressure cooked it at 15 psi for 90 minutes. Let it cool over night and the next day all of my tools ready In my still air Box all sterilized,. All right now I layered some of the sterilize casing mix to make a nice new uniform bed on the bottom of my casing tray, then I took a tool (same tool I use to make my spore syringes ).. Proceeded to break up that quart jar that was colonized into marble sized pieces and spread them all over the "bed" of casing mix as evenly as possible.... Then topped with a thin (I didn't have much room left) casing mix as evenly as possible... Then I put the lid back on the Tupperware ( with a pre drilled hole in the lid with m/pore tape on it) My real question from here is, is that enough gas exchange? Also do I keep it in a dark fairly warm place until it recolonize it or throw it straight in fruiting Conditions? Questions/comments/want to tell me I'm dumb :-) feel free to...thx so so much in advance!!!! :-)
Thank you guys/gals -ganjaburger

that may be enough ge depending on the size of the hole but no need for a dark place

This is the part that always confused me, so after they are "cased", I was under the impression that they go back into Incubation period:t that way that mycellium can recover and I have always waited until I could see about 30 or 40 percent of the top layer colonize before I introduce to the fruiting chamber, does that sound about right? Should I increase the cat exchange allowed on the top or should I just let it be?

that sounds about right but they way you did it sounds more like spawning then casing

That is another one of the terms that I never could quite get it right, so if I added only vermiculite (non nutritive) it would be a casing? but since the coconut coir (nutrient) is in it, it is spawning?
And what ever it was that I did, should I let it sit (dark, warm, clean place) for a couple days until I see Some (30/40%) peeking through before I throw it in the fruiting chamber?
Thx in advance -ganjaburger

Mycelium will eat through any layer, doesn't matter what type it is. Peat moss is recommended because mycelium will generally colonize it slower than coir/verm. And I've heard more people like to wait until 30% of the surface is colonized, then put it into fruiting. Or you can fruit it right away. Find what works best for you.

The peroxide can potentially damage your cakes, only use that on mold, if you want to try to stop it from spreading.

i know some of the procedures can be confusing when you first start OP, although you seem to have singed up in 09 but people do hang out around here without growing for a while it seems lol.
the reason its more like spawning than casing is you have bulk material underneath and on top of your spawn (your crumbled cake) if you had just laid the cake down then put your coir/verm on top that would be more like a 'casing' or a cased tray.
but actually 'spawning' a tray would have meant you took the crumbled caked and mixed it evenly with your coir/verm mix. in my opinion this is what you should have done because now your cake will be trying to colonize the coir/verm from one flat middle layer, instead of being all mixed in 3D like and quickly colonizing all around it.
