Marijuana depletes motivation, I do not give a fuck what anyone says. It does. You have to kick yourself into a routine of just DOING everything you have to do if you're going to smoke on the regular basis.. otherwise it will rob you of the drive that lets you push through the things you've described.
I've heard positive things about nicotine gum, though it doesn't aid in the psychelogical part of the addiction.. I've always thought chewing on toothpicks or something of that nature would be an excellent means of overcoming the -idle hands- part.
I wish you the best luck in your endevors.

Wellbutrin is where it's at for quitting smoking (generic zyban). Every time I've tried to quit it's helped tremendously, but *you've* gotta be ready to quit. It even helps with depression I guess, maybe it'll help you feel better. On my third day of taking it, I was down to 3 cigs a day from the usual 40 and not fiending.
Math does fucking suck, it's why I'm having so much trouble at college. I'm an english major, and I can't even do Math 101. But I can fly thru Fiction 371 without a second thought.. bastards..
On the day you quit, smoke one last cig before you go to bed (so you can sleep) and never touch em again. Good luck, I hope you do better than I have in the past.

Well, I'm US, and even tho my insurance covered it, 30 pills were still like $30. Worth it tho. If you're uninsured or non-US, you can get them real cheap online, and very easily too because they're not a narcotic.

On the issue of school...
I dropped out of high school. I didn't get a GED or whatever. I started junior college when I was 26 and then transferred to UCI and obtained a B.A.
What is the purpose of getting a high school diploma? If that is your stopping point, go get one, or better yet, just take the GED.
If you're planning to go to college, don't waste your time finishing your high school diploma. Junior colleges let you in as long as you're 18, or have a parent's signature. At least go for an AA for now.

I would get a decent sack of kind herb and just smoke that for a good week instead of tobacco. Also start taking vitamins like Vitamin B and Vitamin C and anything else that might interest you. But it's the buds that pull me through nicoteen withdrawl, along with vitamins..

I've been experimenting with motivation for awhile now. I've had HUGE problems with it in the past. But I think I'm finally starting to get my shit together, got straight A's this semester in college, and am almost always in general mood of wanting to accomplish things.
Here's my advice:
I think your goal here is consistency. You probably get bursts of motivation here and there, where you really want to get your act together, but of course you fall back into the Routine, and you can almost see that inspiration disappearing over the horizon right out front of your eyes and you feel powerless to recapture it.
So... start doing alot of little things to combat your routine. Start at the closest thing to you. Your bedroom. Clean it up, organize shit. Then gradually progress farther and farther out: clean the rest of your house, deal with all arising issues in the most practical way possible. Hopefully this will keep the motivation alive, and eventually will spread to more aspects of your lifestyle.
lay off the herb. it will only relax you and youll fall back into whatever is most comfortable, and comfort is your enemy if your trying to change.
i'm on school break right now so ive been getting high alot... numbing my brain... cuz in acouple weeks im gonna stop completely and hit the books, going for all A's again and it's gonna be freakin hard. I'm psyched for the challenge.
i used to smoke joints before and after my college classes all the time my first year or so... i don't know what i was thinking... was barely pulling in C's and not retaining hardly any information.

I've completely stopped smoking tobacco and cut down 95% of marijuana these past months. Why? You try being a broke college student . Hell, paying for gas while I'm home for the holidays is hard enough on the wallet!!!
