Extreme sunburn out of nowhere

So, recently i did a bit of repotting. Those 3 are exemplars: something i always failed to ID but i thought it was saguaro, a ferocactus, some sort of opuntia
anyhow, those 3 were placed in slight sun. now after repotting, i placed them is a more sunny place. those were not watered since then (3 days) anyhow, other lants are not suffering, some of those others, were also previously placed in the low sun place and the new sunny place itself is not that extreme, since many delicate ones (even a variegated gymno) stay there with good results.
Now, do you think that this is sunburn or not? how come it can be so devasting? and how com in few days?

I'd guess that is sunburn. IME cacti need a much more gradual introduction to sun than other plants, like cannabis. Instead of going from shade to strong sun in one step, I would go with 2 intermediate steps, each one lasting a few days, for a total of 2 weeks. This was my experience with seedlings anyway.

That is sunburn. Classic example of it actually.
Hard to say why exactly. Did you place them facing the sun the same way as they were previously? Any part that isn't used to strong sun will fry if not used to it. Also, some of my plants growing in strong light still suffer from slight sunburn on extremely hot days. Damage is never severe, just shriveling and colour pales a bit.

plants are still facing the same direction (west) the fact is that previously they were in front of a pillar that shaded most of the sun they are getting now. I would have expected something like that in a south faced place, but not in a west one.
By the way, it's sad that the cactus that took more damage is also the one i do care more. I still don't have an ID for it and i would like to have one, so if someone does recognise it... here's a picture before the sunburn. Hoping it does recover.

Off the top of my head that looks a lot like a Saguaro.
