I was kind of curious because the only admin that seems to be active anymore is Asante. And andy isn't here anymore.

Asante is definitely the most active on the fora, but there are other admins actively running the site, too. It's a business, and each person has his role.

i think if we set up the donation system to have a sort of comment with a list of mods that donate-ers can approve/disapprove/neutral
but i think it would be good to make the opinion of supporters known, and which mods are actually making the site more money than others.
or just vote so you don't have an issue with certain privileged members buying authority.

I'm not really in favor of turning this site into a democracy. The owners of the site should be free to make it what they want. I'm just not sure if they know what they want it to be. If they do, I'm pretty sure it hasn't been clearly communicated to the staff.
I don't blame anyone for this, though. It's not like Mind Media was formed and this site was born. The site was born like we are: Small, barely functional, and with no particular purpose. Today, the site is very different than the one that Ythan originally created. The owners have had to react to the changing dynamic. I doubt there was ever a master plan.
Maybe it's time to create that master plan or vision for the site.

for the record i want it to be clear that your past statements are merely being used as an example and by no means to question your authority, by myself and it seems all the others referencing you. if the mods were to reform their style i hope it turns to reflect your.

Enlil said: That's an excellent question. Ultimately, that's up to the admins, but the truth is that much of it is delegated to mods who have a varying ideas about what is and isn't alright. For me, I prefer to fall on the side of free speech and editing when posts cross the line. Some mods prefer to fall on the side of banning anyone who says rude or unkind things.
Inconsistency has always been a problem, but I think that lately that problem has been more visible.
It may be time for a revamping of the rules and the way in which they're published on this site. I think a lot of users don't know the rules. I think some mods don't either. The site runs okay with its current rules and mod discretion, but occasionally we have situations like this that confuse and enrage the user base. Maybe we can avoid some of that with a bit of clarity.
And who has been saying that for years?

its just an idea, i'm not saying i know the only (considering i presented to basic ideas). but its hardly debatable that the site needs to pick an image and to stick to after some consideration from the owners and do away with the good mod bad mod shit.

This site is not about making money. Comments like that are why this site is not and should not be a democracy.

As I said before, I don't really care. Telling people to kill themselves has been allowed in OTD for a long time. I broke no rules when I did it, and I have no regrets. I don't really care what butthurt folk think about it today.

Why is nobody allowed to post another person's picture? I guarantee OTD went severely overboard for that to happen. Am I right?

The rule in OTD is that you can't post someone's picture in OTD unless that person has posted it in OTD already. This means you can't take a picture from the pub or SLOTS and take it into OTD just to make fun of that person.
Whether that rule applies in other fora, I can't say. It is specifically written into the OTD rules, though. I'd suspect that dragging a picture into a UC would be against the rules as well.

False. You told people your pix could be posted in OTD when you linked us to your photobucket acct and gave express written consent for everyone to do whatever they wanted, given one stipulation. People appreciated your permissiveness, and to the best of my knowledge, no one photoshopped your face onto an elephant, per your wishes.
